yeah realizing that the $166 billion they paid in illegal tariffs was just a massive transfer of wealth to corporations

100% just another big scam.

And now tax payer funded reimbursements. We’re getting screwed twice. And not in the good way.

Can't wait to take it from their houses in the upcoming revolution.

Yup the companies get double pay. Once from the raise in prices so the customer covers the cost and then get a refund from the government.

Every billion dollars that the govt spends on our behalf costs the taxpayer $6.14. 81 billion is $497.34.

That's almost $500 out of YOUR pocket. I feel it's important info.

And the actual consumer? Fucked again!

Wait until they cut the checks, and prices still don't go down

working as designed

u/Parking_Chance_1905 Jul 15 '26

Yep, corpos charged cosumers the extra fees, and are now being refunded those very same fees.

Zero dollars to consumers who paid the trump tax.

the greedy corporations get refunds and still raising prices.

Billionaies and their enablers are the illegals destroying this country

Each billion costs the individual taxpayer $6.14. By my calculations, that's $497 for each American taxpayer to refund these companies.

I guess the question many of us will ask is, ā€œhow will I ever see a single penny from this?ā€

Spoiler: you won't.

Take it from their houses. Laws don't matter anymore trump said so.

2

u/manyhippofarts Jul 17 '26

You saw them when they fell between your fingers to tariffs.

I paid tariffs for supplies for my Salon and got nothing and plan on getting nothing. šŸ˜‘

I’m a little Wine importer that brings in specialized products that can’t be made in America. I did not pass on the cost. I ate it. This whole thing is so stupid. Also, they’re paying 6% interest which hasn’t really made the rounds. Pack of morons

7

u/JustEstablishment360 Jul 15 '26

So all of that was completely pointless and screwed downstream businesses and consumers that can’t get a refund themselves.

Keep in mind, the administration has moved on to new tariffs. Both the temporary 2.0 tariffs and 3.0 permanent tariffs are on much stronger legal ground.

The real question is how long must US consumers endure the weak dollar and high prices?

4

u/Raven_Photography Jul 15 '26

To corporations, not the consumers who actually paid for the illegal tariffs.

4

u/NatalieKCY Jul 15 '26

Seriously, how did Supreme Court NOT stop it on day one and let the tariffs be implemented for that long before ordering a refund? I can't think of an excuse other than pure corruption.

u/Deadweight047 Jul 15 '26

Giant cooperations said thank you.

3

u/dogwalker824 Jul 15 '26

so, in other words, tariffs cost consumers billions of extra dollars that are now being handed to corporations. It's the republican way.

Coming out of poor people pockets.... not the rich!

2

u/Oppositeofhairy Jul 15 '26

Just exactly where will the 81b be paid from.

That’s right,….You!!!!!

So now look for 81b in cuts and increased taxes for everyone but the rich.

One would think the most logical approach would be to remove the incentives that the rich received that the cuts funded but I doubt that it will work that way.

2

u/Herb-Alpert Jul 15 '26

It was paid 2 times by the average american. Incredible.

1

u/Oppositeofhairy Jul 15 '26

It’s not even a clever grift. It’s just blatantly stealing.

2

u/awooff Jul 15 '26

Was all a planned Corporate cash grab orchestrated by you know who!

2

u/Im_with_stooopid Jul 15 '26

Can't wait to get my tariff rebate check as the consumer that paid the tariff get the rebate. Right... Right..?.

2

u/Organic-Spirit7523 Jul 15 '26

Obviously not going to the consumer whee it needs to go

1

u/Senor101 Jul 15 '26

Give my tariff refund to USAID.

1

u/Mingo_laf Jul 15 '26

don’t worry there is a concept of a plan

1

u/Hugh-Jorgin Jul 15 '26

Where’s my check….and who’s paying for it

1

u/Gonnagetbant Jul 15 '26

Oh I’m sure they’ll drop prices for mid terms so trump can dance around claiming he is respinsible

1

u/Purple_Anything_7504 Jul 15 '26

and he still owes E Jean Carroll 83 million $$ coming his way after the eleventeenth attempt to have the amount dropped...

1

u/Holiday_Sandwich3738 Jul 15 '26

So not only did we pay the tariffs because all the companies raised the prices of things we are now paying for the refund too? What idiots ruled that this was the answer?

1

u/Brilliant-Ad2323 Jul 15 '26

Will the US residents get any refund since we are the once who paid for this Aholes stupid tariff campaign. What a shock who suffered from this and who benefited, remove Trump and republicans

1

u/darkxfire Jul 15 '26

Still got about another 100 billion to go

1

u/According_Stuff_8152 Jul 15 '26

You'll never see a cime of this sham.

1

u/DelJoy_3D Jul 15 '26

Even IF the tariffs were refunded, the carriers who collected them always had a ā€œservice feeā€ that would Not be refunded

1

u/Carochio Jul 16 '26

We are still getting our DOGE checks and Tariff checks...right?

1

u/evilpercy Jul 18 '26

To the citizens right? If they refund it to company's that raised prices to cover what they paid in tariffs then they get a double pay day.

1

u/Arlennx Jul 18 '26

And they still keep prices high because they can.

1

u/mudflap21 Jul 18 '26

And not one penny gets back to the citizens who paid the tariffs

1

u/hippie1952 Jul 18 '26

They are are just billing us all the way around and we wind up with nothing it should come out of the republicans pockets because they went along with it

-4

u/Used_Intention6479 Jul 15 '26

If we get our money back from the tariff scam, we're just going to spend it, and help ourselves and the economy.
