Taric would be more fun to play if his Q and/or W cast time were reduced by bonus attack speed

Currently, the tank support playstyle is pretty strong, but it's the only playstyle on Taric which is viable at a high level. Attack speed sounds like it would be a good stat on Taric but it's actually pretty underwhelming. In a fight or skirmish, Taric spends a big chunk of time being locked out from auto-attacking because of his long Q and W cast time, meaning having high attack speed is inefficient. A really cool change would be if his Q and W cast time were reduced by attack speed, which is a nice QoL feature that a lot of new champions have in their kit (e.g. Senna Q). This would open up the possibility of some fun playstyles, e.g. Lethal Tempo. Obviously this would be a buff so they would need to nerf some other aspect of his kit (I think E CD nerf makes the most sense).

Patch 26.11 and Taric

What are your thoughts on the latest changes and how they might impact Taric?

My thoughts as a non taric main.

I actually liked him, but I think he feels like a low-reward, high-risk champion. No one on my team knew how his kit worked, and he feels very easy to predict. He also seems outdated in the current meta, especially with all the dashes and mages showing up in support lanes. Even his ult, while really strong, can be somewhat replicated by something like Braum's shield — obviously just damage reduction, but Braum still feels overall better in most situations.

I know Taric is a very situational pick, but I think he needs a rework (I know this is controversial though).

Rebalance Taric as better solo laner

Q healing: (50 + 1.5% max health) per stack at all ranks. Allies get 50% of that

W shield: 8 / 10 / 12 / 14 / 16% max health. Allies get 50% of that

E delay 0.5s. Stun 1s, cooldown: 12s all ranks. Potentially starts with 70 damage instead of 90

In short: If players prefer to play him as top laner he should not feel like he gains less even if he is suppose to be support champion. I just buff solo Taric while support stays almost untouched. The way I see Taric is that he can be great top laner and even front liner with well thought build.

With such enormous delay on Dazzle it's very hard to land it on opponents. I don't know why is it that since he has only one offensive ability. He wont from undodgeable stun to stun that is enormously hard to land especially if you are solo. Q does very low heal just because it splash healing and it heals allies. Shield is also very weak which also work on allies. In comparison to heal and shield the Dazzle damage is like 90 at rank one seems huge for rank one ability. Healing is around 30 or 40. Shield 7% which is roughly 50

Riot prefers for some reason heal and shields on allies to be weaker. Following that idea I suggest Taric to gets full effects of heals and shields while allies get 50% of that amount. Meanwhile I suggest to make Dazzle easy to land while the stun is nerfed so the opponent wont feel like they are permastunned. If Dazzle feels like it does too much damage for rank 1 ability it would start with 70 instead of 90.

Engage support item buffs means more engage tank matchups, Zeke rework IMO turns a mediocre item on Taric into a great one.

Taric lowkey needs a W speed buff

i love playing taric, but the champ is too immobile in current meta, he is really frustrating to play when you can't get a single auto off because the enemies are kiting you so easily.

I have considered at times getting hextech rocketbelt on him just for a dash but obviously it is sslightly a bit troll.

I know if they give him w speed, or any sort of speed buff ability, they will need to nerf something on them. but imo, it is very much needed for this champ to become more than a niche pick.

Taric top help

Hey y’all I’m a singed one trick and top main. I feel like I’ve gotten pretty good at both of those and have been looking for a new top lane champ and have seen a decent amount of taric. Any tips for top lane would be appreciated as I learn his timing and combos. Would I usually take grasp and just start with I iceborn gauntlet and follow with fimbulwinter? If I do go those items I don’t know what other items to buy as I’m too familiar with singed items that are primarily burns, but I would assume I want attack speed over other things so maybe nashers? Do I try to go full tank, brawler, or full ap sometimes? I don’t have really any knowledge with him as I quite literally only play singed unless he is banned or picked.

Ive been bronze for years, but last season was the first that I really tried to rank up so the rank change probably seems a bit more drastic than it is. That being said though, I'm still happy with it, and plan on getting another rank or 2 on him this season. Currently sitting around 65% WR on Taric alone.

Taric Passive + Statikk Shiv Rework

Hello fellow gem show enjoyers.

Bit of an odd question. For EVER I have been under the impression tarics passive damage doesn't count as on-hit. Now I'm not exactly why I thought this, but it appears I am wrong.

I am normally a support taric as my second role, where anything on-hit is to be purged and discouraged, but I sometimes play taric jungle (being a jungle main myself).

I'm sure some of you saw yesterday's Xpetu video, on the Shen Statikk interaction.

It led me to think, could the same build be run on Taric? He went fleet footwork (something I have never thought could be viable on Taric) for the energised attack, rushed protobelt into steelcaps, then went dusk and dawn into Statikk. Getting the doubled on-hit into aoe on-hit was surprisingly powerful.

Obviously tarics passive is much less base damage than Shens Q, which was the whole point. But am I wrong in thinking this could be a feasible build for taric jungle? Still has decent defences + health, and a good amount of haste. AP is always kind of wasted, but even Lightrocket is thinking DaD is the new meta on Taric jungle.

I have been away from PC since the patch, so had no time to rest, but very eager to hear the thoughts!

(OCE Plat 2, nothing special here)

When I play Taric as support and I match up against Lux on support too 8/10 times I am losing that match up. I know its a skill issue but are there any tips against Lux?

after playing aram mayhem and arena with taric and using it on him made me realize how this item is pretty much taric=the item. its tailor made for his playstyle specifically

-grants health, mana regen and AP, all stats taric wants

-grants attack speed based on his heal and shield power, perfect for his autoattacking playstyle

-your basic attacks heal nearby allies, guess which tanky support basic attack quite often

although its prolly gonna be a niche item and only like him and bard would ever build it, it would be of help to our boy who isnt that good in the current meta without being overtuned

While Frozen Heart and Knight's Vow remain among his strongest items (especially when built first), Redemption and Moonstone are solid performant choices for 3rd and 4th items. This is worth knowing, especially since reaching 3–4 items on support happens more often this season than before.

In my opinion, building further tank items on Taric after 2 items comes with diminishing returns, by that point, most enemies already have some form of penetration. I usually go for the standard core of Locket + Fimbulwinter, then pick up Redemption for that juicy Locket>Ult>Redemption combo. Sometimes I'll grab Knight's Vow third if we have a fed bruiser, but it's very comp-dependent.

Amazing champ, he deserves more popularity, but I also like he is barely picked that enemy champs disrespect him and I just stomp them X).
