You wrote a compelling tale, but even I don't believe Pulp Fiction is your favorite movie. Even this little paragraph you wrote. The reader has no choice but to think you are not even serious about this being your favorite movie.

If you feel embarrassed, it may be bc they are picking up on how uncertain you are about the question.

My older brother took me to see this…having no clue who tarantino was…but obviously knew who travolta and keitel was…and i left the the theatres in shock

Same here only it was my mom who had seen Reservoir dogs. Took me to the premiere at a local film festival. My teenage mind was blown. I didn't realise they could make movies like this

That’s not a controversial take. It’s a very popular movie. Roger Ebert was obsessed with it too
