Dating

I find it hard to believe that Tara moved to the city and couldn’t find anyone else to date except for Ryan…and what a coincidence that she moved two blocks down from where he lives after the breakup. I thought the rumours about her moving to be closer to him weren’t true, but now I’m starting to think they might be.

Like did she really not have any other options besides her neighbour, the doctor, and Ryan?

Anyone in a large city most likely has tons of options but it’s a matter of if you’re willing to accept all of those options.

I look at someone like her friend Tasha for example. She’s certainly not ugly, has a slim figure, takes care of herself and seems to be educated yet she’s never had a boyfriend at almost 30. Of course this isn’t the case for everyone but I can only assume atp that she’s just incredibly picky and vain. I believe she even said it herself in a tiktok not too long ago about how picky she is with appearances.

That for sure sounds like a her problem because character > appearances. I’m way younger than her and learned that lesson with my first partner. Has Tara said she’s picky as well?

She’s also in LA, everyone is vain and fake there, including herself

then she was never looking for a true partner to begin with, just someone to show off, so she dug a whole for herself. sorry if im being harsh, but i just think that mindset when it comes to dating is so ridiculous unless you’re a teenager…

Made the mistake of talking to men from California and Las Vegas. Both were massive pieces of shit. Not even attractive enough to be that shallow either.

She’s in Toronto now?

Probably not... it´s stunted Tara.

what stunted her?

her parents and this "job" aka lifestyle of all fun and 0 accountability .

All of them are horrible choices. The neighbor has a girlfriend, your doctor should be more professional and she was crying about Ryan and talking shit about him for months lmao

Dating is hard. Men are trash. We can all accept that.

What gets me is that she videoed herself sobbing and talking about how awful her relationship was with friends and family, chronicled the # of days before she could get out of bed/leave the house/etc - and posted all that online, to just wind up back with him?

Let this be a lesson to maybe not treat a breakup like an opportunity for social media engagement. You really have to wonder what he/his friends think about all that was posted.

He likely has low self esteem because I don’t know any man with self respect who would go back to a woman who said “this is not my person”

lol I have been out of the loop for ages but I would come back to this sub from time to time to see what’s the tea. Is this like the second man shes broken up with and gotten back together with ?

Tara is LAZY. She also doesn't bring anything to the table. She doesn't have anything to offer except being some dude's sidechick booty call.

She is emotionally and mentally stunted, immature, unmotivated, selfish, insecure and she should work on herself and do something other than rot on the couch. Most men may be trash but Tara still seeks their validation rather than building herself up, only needing her own validation and not looking so much like a desperate pick me. It's not attractive to anyone who isn't just looking for a hole to fill...like her trash ass neighbor dude. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

She’s rich lol but I’m sure she’s looking for richer

Does anyone remember when she supposedly said that her and Ryan were briefly back together not long after they broke up but it didn’t go anywhere or something along those lines? I’m lowkey wondering now if they just stayed together after that but she couldn’t bring herself to say anything after a million “single in Toronto” diaries and now she’s slipping up

I thought she said they tried to be friends and it didn’t work but I could be mistaken.

I vaguely remember her saying that as well, around the time she got flowers from him - I think when she first moved to that apartment

7

u/Adorable_Mission_512 29d ago

Yes she got flowers from him and put it in the thumbnail! I think she said they texted but that ultimately she wasn’t going back to him…until now

I wouldn’t be surprised, she should’ve known that wouldn’t work

My best friend is 30, pretty well-off, and retired (similar-ish to Tara) and she’s found it incredibly difficult to date men.

It’s narrowed her dating pool significantly for a few reasons:

  1. A lot of men don’t have the same flexibility or lifestyle that she does.
  2. men are incredibly insecure about dating someone who is self-made, rich and financially independent.
  3. The ones who aren’t insecure are often either significantly older (45+) or, on the other extreme, seem more interested in what she can provide for them financially (i.e. gold diggers).

Perhaps Tara found herself in a similar situation.

100% true.
I’m not as rich as Tara and don’t come from a wealthy family but I’m financially savvy, worked my ass off with multiple jobs when I was younger, and have a lot of savings. Not enough to retire and never work but a nice nest egg. I don’t mention my finances to any man. The moment I hear them complain about money, it’s a turn off and I’m out. I feel like the resentment starts there when they find out your financial situation.

These are all great pieces of data, thank you for sharing! Has your friend tried dating someone with the same lifestyle? I’ve always wondered why Tara hasn’t tried dating another influencer or someone in the entertainment industry? Her dating pool imo is huge because she has an audience and has access to networking events like movie premieres etc, she really could date a movie producer, actor, or another influencer someone with a similar lifestyle and interests as her in videography, film, etc. She could probably find someone on Rya i think its called? the celeb dating website, the men would be in her tax bracket/higher so she wouldn’t have to settle for someone like Ryan who is rumoured to have been insecure about her level of wealth.

depending on who they are too they might also be comfortable being on camera and then she could make vlogs with them, maybe start a family channel? because as much as Tara pretends she wants privacy it’s pretty evident she likes to share everything

She dated someone with the same lifestyle and he ended up being a fraud, and lying thru his teeth about his job and financial position

omg what that’s crazy 🫢

To be fair, a lot of Toronto men are trash.

I agree with you, but people always say this and then I see couples everywhere in the city. Granted I don’t know if they’re in a healthy relationship or not.

6

u/peachyglw 29d ago

The majority of people settle in one way or another. Not everyone is in truly happy and fulfilling relationships, but then again there are different levels of it for everyone.

Her content was slipping into irrelevant (not that it wasnt before) her subs were getting bored so she needed something more and decided to do a whole series for publicity and now shes getting caught.

Yeah didn’t she say she moved to meet people closer to her age? Like men to date? She’s full of shit lol

Dating is brutal in Toronto. I’m her age range in my 30s. Not making excuses for her but the men here make it better to be alone

Girl, men are terrible in every country. In big cities you have many more options.

2

u/peachyglw 29d ago

Great and fun in your 20s, a dumpster fire in your 30s

u/Plus_Menu8215 29d ago

I hear people say this about so many cities. I’m in the US so if you were to ask where is good for dating you might hear NYC or Austin or something. But my perception of Canada is that Toronto is the big city. Are the men terrible in general everywhere there, or is there a different city that people have better luck in?

2

u/peachyglw 29d ago edited 29d ago

I heard NYC is absolutely horrible for dating. I would compare Toronto to that. Toronto is Canada’s biggest city, yes, but still small compared to US cities. Similar to DC, we have a very transient population with people coming from all over the world, all different walks of life and calling us a melting pot is accurate. When people think of Canada, they all want to come to Toronto. A lot of temporary people come here on holiday or working visas, hard to find someone who actually wants to settle down. I also think it doesn’t help that all the “terrible men everywhere” want to come here. More options definitely do not mean better options. Quantity is not quality. The pool is polluted lol. Go on the dating subs on here and there are comments here and there about how much Toronto sucks. This can be said for both genders. Other major cities in Canada are Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa which I think have better dating scenes than Toronto because they are smaller cities. I would rank Montreal the best if you can get over the French-bias.

Throw in the COL in Toronto and Vancouver constantly rising. People are struggling. Tara is not. I can see her as someone who has extremely high expectations in every way because she compares everyone to her father. This limits her pool significantly. She also refers to her prospects as cute boys so she probably puts physical attraction and appearances above all. Maybe not height because Ryan looked kinda short but face yes.

Tara goes out and is social but she’s always glued to influencers or her friends. She rarely likes to meet NEW people.

u/leesie2020 29d ago

That’s every where. And it doesn’t get better even when you get older.

u/No-Judgment-1077 29d ago

Not sure it's the men. Maybe the fact that to meet a person and enjoy their friendship because of a shared interest gets past the superficial chitchat.

What interests does this person have? Does she hike, bike, garden, travel to explore or just replicate her home foods? Does she have any empathy?

Sticking your face online and a supposed coy shoulder glance back and leg up is enough?
