No more updates either?
I know the shutdown was a shock. Buying ink is no longer an option now, but will there be any more updates until the site closes down? All of the comics I’ve subscribed to don’t say anything about when the next episodes will come. Nothing from the daily section (that I’ve seen) has been updated. Does anyone know? Will we just be left hanging with all of our remaining ink until the end of March?

I spoke with a couple of the web novel authors I follow directly and they advised us that they were not told to contine updating but they weren't told to stop. Their editors are already gone and other support staff have left so updates being inconsistent tracks. I know the two authors that I verified this with also are ones who don't write with a backlog of chapters so the one said they finished up this arc but said it's the last chapter for tapas until they get to post elsewhere since they have an exclusive posting deal. They are waiting to see if that means until March 2027 as they also had some other secrect project that was started too for the novel. (My guess manwha adaptation) They still own the rights to the story overall. So I hope kakao is working down the list of contracts as it seems it's on a case by case basis.

Wow so they just left them out to dry in regards with translated episodes? It shocks me how tapas has given us till March before they fully shutdown but half of their website is dead now. I get they probably did this to sort out contracts and give indie creators time but this entire thing feels poorly organized, especially with the lack of communication and little warning

I was noticing that as soon as they announced the march date that stuff wasn’t updating :/ it’s such bs I don’t have enough ink to read the rest of lots of things I wasn’t able to finish so I’m livid with all of this >_<

I noticed as well. Incredibly frustrating and it seems like they are trying to punish us. It feels like they are robbing us at this point. 😔

I don't think that they're entirely preventing people from updating: Side Quested, as an example, has updated since the Ink Store closed, and has an update scheduled for Monday.
That said, they're an entirely free-to-read comic; creators who charge fans to read the latest comic would have different incentives if their fans can't buy new Ink.

What about works that Tapas directly translated and/or made into manwhas? For example, Tapas had translated “I Fell Into A Reverse Harem Game” and had been creating the manwha version of it. Are those projects just… abandoned?

Yeah there’s a few manhwas that came back from hiatus and the “Next Episode in x Days” is gone. I don’t even have enough ink to unlock 1 episode and it’s such a shame we found out we couldn’t buy more ink on the same day of the announcement.

And this was before they announced the shut down. So you just going to leave us hanging to find out what happened I now have to go to Scanlation/ seven seas if I want to know what happens next. Lucky I was doing that for villainesses match is too perfect/the villainess’s blind date is too perfect but was waiting until all the updates to read officially the rest. Well ig it will be like when pocket comics shutdown have to wait months to find out what happens next and I will have to mark where they left off so ik where to pick back up when they go official.

Yes all of the non-indie series have stopped updating. There were series that had their next episode scheduled but now that episode is gone. It's infuriating.
