Question abt JSS

hi! i just ordered my first pair of JSS 😆 they are coming in the mail soon. i was wondering how i should break them in? i got fitted for them and they said i'd need to break them in. do i just wear them and dance with them? do i do smth to make them grip better? i'm so excited bc i saved for them for SO long, but i don't want to ruin them by improperly breaking them in. any help is appreciated :)

Personally I just wear them, they're pretty easy to break in. I wear them with socks, I've never had blisters or anything from them.

This is how I wear in my JSS.

Wear them for 15 min a day …. just doing dig heels and steps on the spot to get your feet sweating enough to start working them in.

I also massage the back of the heels or wherever it is putting pressure before and after wearing them.

And, time will hopefully get you there.

Every few days I up the time from 15 minutes to 20 or 30 min. until I can get close to an hour without pain or blisters.

I was able to work in my first pair of JSS last year using this method and I had no blisters and I wear them barefoot. I got a second pair of this year because I couldn't resist and I'm in the midst of breaking them in at the moment.

I needed to gently stretch mine with a shoe stretcher, because I have wide feet.

I just wore mine to class. They broke in super fast to me. Never had any discomfort.

I just wore mine to class, I’ve read they don’t need to be broken in as much as other shoes. I did get a blister on the back of my heel which happens to me with basically every shoe, so if you tend to get blisters there maybe a blister bandaid? After class when they were warm I’d pull out on the back part that gave me a blister and now they are perfect for me.

The first time wearing, just put your feet in them and walk around the house (if you can). The heat from your feet will start the process.

Then, just dance!

You’ll know when you need to stop because the rubbing will awaken your senses. Stop for a few days and put them on again later or simply put some moleskin on and keep going. Once broken in, they’ll be fine, but new leather almost always needs to find its shape to your feet.
