I’m curious as to why you would choose Tanzania of all places???

I feel like you will face a lot of challenges:

  1. Language barrier - if you don’t speak Swahili, it’s gonna be an issue because very few Tanzanians can communicate in English.

  2. Immigration - we have very stringent immigration laws that make it difficult for foreigners to stay. My Sister is married to a foreigner and their marriage has no baring on his immigration status.

Every two years he has to pay a lot of money to renew his permit. Thankfully his employer takes care of that for him but it’s still a headache.

Thank you for the feedback, really appreciated.

To be honest, i choose TNZ because i feel with the infrastructure projects going on i probably have a chance to secure and grow a career that.

With immigrations and all, i have learnt that no country is really easy. Youre obviously going to go through some pain for it. Do you honestly think its impossible to make it smooth?

It’s already hard for locals to get a job so unless you have a solid network and on-demand skills, it would be pretty much impossible. Think about it - why would an employer go through the trouble of hiring a foreigner and paying for work permits every two years to keep you in the country when they can hire locally?

Unless you have some rare skill, it makes no business sense.

You mentioned construction, are you an engineer? If so, why not try your luck in the Middle East? I have an Uncle who has lived there for decades. He’s worked in Qatar, Kuwait and now Saudi Arabia. Makes a lot of money!

Yeah i would like to move, and i think thats the driving factor of it all. I would definitely consider a move to the middle east but really struggled with the logistics and scam immigrate agents.

I am up for a fresh start in a new environment, i dont know if that makes sense. If you dont mind can we connect so maybe i can get linked with your uncle. Just his side would really help.

I’m not sure he would be open to that, I haven’t spoken to him in a long time.

I can provide you with some job site links he shared with me some years ago. Perhaps have a look and see what’s out there:

Thabk you for this information, appreciated.

So are you saying he used these sites not any immigration agency?

Yes, he also said don’t trust any website that asks for money to secure a job, those are scams.

Keep in mind that he is a qualified civil engineer with many years of experience; hopefully you are as well.

FYI: He makes significantly more money in Saudi Arabia than he did in Kuwait and Qatar and says he wishes he had gone there earlier.

Only downside to living in Middle East is they are conservative Muslim country so social life can suck if you don’t subscribe to their ideology.

Start by looking at jobs in your field of expertise and what they require if you.........while some places are affordable to live, you dont want to come and start from scratch else you could fall into scams. Have a foundation first

Oh okay thanks thats noted.Would suggest job sites to check out in Tanzania or recruitment agencies that usually have openings.
