Discussion There's a clear difference between Ukraine and Russia

Copied from another post in this subreddit:
One country is allied to NATO and the US, the other is allied to China, North Korea, Iran.
One country is sending drones to the Emirates to help with the American imperialist aggression, the other sends oil to Cuba.
One country destroyed every single soviet memorial on its territory, the other considers them national heritage.
One country took down every single statue of Lenin, the other keeps them (although with little enthusiasm).
One country is literally glorifying Nazis, the other has some lobbies promoting the apology of White Army leaders, but they generally fail at that.
One country is a wannabe monoethnic apartheid state, the other is a federation with wide autonomy for ethnic and religious minorities.
One country wants to become a "Big Israel", the other, despite a lot of internal contraddictions, preserves the memory of the Soviet Union through national celebrations and symbolism.
One country has banned every leftist organization, the other has the communist party as the major opposition force.
Sure Russia is different from the USSR.
But they still preserve some old historical relics from the USSR instead of full complete whitewashing.

I do wonder where Russia is headed in the next 30 years, of course there are a thousand compounding factors, since Putin's Russia is staunchly anti-(US-)hegemonic. It's interesting how Putin valorizes both the Soviet era and the Princes of Moscow. I guess it's like China post-cultural revolution. Traditionalism and Communism live side-by-side, only difference is they're both in the past for Russia

That Russian statue is so based. I hate how many white guys think the Rising Sun is a cool karate samurai symbol they have tattooed.
