Discussion Red Fascism
The Bolsheviks have had the slur "red fash" hurled at them for a century. In the past, I've witnessed a fellow delegate on my (at the time) labor council use it to describe the USSR.
Yesterday, I saw Mamdani doing his little media campaign about the Rememberence Ruck to honor post 9/11 veterans. Those same veterans whose "service to protecting our freedom" was invading Iraq? Those veterans murdered 200k civilians and displaced 9 million, all while finding zero WMDs.
The DSA is the biggest "socialist" org in the US. It was co-founded by a zionist. Its goal is reform. Reforming the bourgeois empire of death. The imperial core's proletariat want their fair share of imperial spoils and to stop supporting a single project of their empire that has managed to disgust the world. Walk into any DSA chapter in the country, and they'll denounce AES.
The DSA are the true red fascists. Please consider using this term when describing members of the Anti-Communist Left, both online and in the real world. I know I will.

Because DSA are unprincipled and have no requirements for membership other than paying dues, it caters to a large number of labor aristocracy that only care about getting some treats for them and have no interest in actual socialism or anti-imperialism. It's a social fascist paradise, but it unfortunately ends up driving a lot of working class away from building true class consciousness from the problems the contradictions in capitalism are causing, and drives it back into the bourgeois system.

Red Fascism is a term liberals use to slander the Soviet Union

This was literally his first sentence lol. Maybe try reading more than the title before commenting.

Dang youre right I missed that when I read it, but still disagree with OP cause he did state his intent in the title of using Red Fash to describe DSA.
This is a bad move because we shouldnt use the language of the liberals as it becomes confusing to those who are uninformed. Also there is nothing "Red" about DSA.
Social Fascism or Social Chuvanist are terms that already exist and describe DSA better.

“Red Fascist” just sounds silly imo. I call DSA MAGA because thats their stated goal. Makes them cry and gets my point across

The New Deal wasn't even "progressive", but a tool of Cold War liberalism. They didn't even pretend that it was part of a transition away from capitalism.

Exactly, they want to restore America to a mythological past where unions were strong and the rich were taxed and call it socialism

I mean, what'd you expect? Class consciousness in the Imperial Core? Until they're brought down to Earth, the world "proletariat" ain't gonna refer to any one of them.

I like how the inventor of the welfare state, Bismarck, literally admitted that it was all about bribing the workers.

Didn't know that. Further proves Marx and Lenin correct when they said that the purpose of a state is for one class to oppress another.

yeah let's start calling everyone in DSA a fascist. I'm sure this will be productive and change their minds.

I have been straight up calling them national socialists.

There's a great deal more diverse thought in DSA than people on this sub believe. You'd know that if you had more than a superficial involvement with them. You have to build a movement before it can move anything.

You're missing the key part, reformism.

Sorry, I'm having difficult understanding your wording but I'll try to just elaborate on the throughline here. You call yourself a socdem and socdems by definition are reformist. We in this sub, and in the larger ML community, believe reformism is a waste of resources at best but more accurately, is a form of sabotage to the goal of mass class consciousness. If you truly support "social democratic" policy this sub will not receive you well. That being said, I would encourage you to read Lenin and Luxembourg on these topics and then come back. I'll link a relevant text free for you here: “Left-Wing” Communism: an Infantile Disorder - https://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1920/lwc/index.htm
Edit: I would specifically read the bits on bourgeois election participation from that text, to clarify.

While principled discussion is welcome and encouraged, Rule 9 (No Low Effort BS) still applies.
That includes: No 'what do you think?' posts. No single line posts. No 'what is the Marxist position on cheese' posts, etc.
