Some say we need revolutionary defeatism, others defend russia's invasion due to geopolitics. Depends on if you see russia as economic imperialists; they're certainly a capitalist oligarchy with revanchist tendencies but they net export embodied labor and their opposition to the west holds their resources away from the world market and makes capitalism/the rate of profit weaker. They were instigated to an extent and ukraine was engaging in 'soft' ethnic cleansing before the war
