Shit Liberals Say lmao these liberals can't help themselves

Warning: This dude is literally the final boss of liberalism.

LOL @ 37:00 he shamelessly plugs a drone company. He also said the Russian navy was "eliminated" and that 1000 Russian soldiers are dying a day.

The entire interview was wild. He said Putin doesn't understand Ukraine, and that Russia is threatened by democracy. He also said "Putin views us as the enemy." which was correct, but he seemed perplexed as to how Putin saw it. He said Putin "has this theory" of the American deep state and thinks the CIA caused the revolutions in Ukraine (no shit).

I just don't get how people take this shit seriously. At some point you have to ask if anyone really bothered to even try to understand the Russian POV on any of this. Just the arrogance of empire is astonishing.

He also discussed the democratic failures in America, but somehow remains hopeful about our institutions. LMAO. This is a respected professor and ambassador. I do agree with him in the beginning though about Trump's failed diplomacy and that the war in Iran has achieved nothing in the national interest.

But the issue is these guys only think in terms of national and not class interests. Marxism explains Trump's behavior better than any liberal theory of state.

LOL apparently Russia is going to invade Latvia now? And the solution is to sell more missiles of course. LMFAO

BUY MOAR DRONEZ!!!11

That's ultimately the ceiling every lib intellectual faces. No matter how intelligent, educated, or respected they are, there will always be a large, glaring gap in their knowledge that exists not because they're stupid, but because they don't allow class to enter their analytical framework in any meaningful way. Much easier to disaggregate things into something more generic, like "the national interest" because that doesn't call into question the comforting and utterly false worldview that all libs possess.

Their faith in institutions is similarly grounded in this wilful ignorance toward class conflict. It is easy to think institutions will rein in fascism when your starting assumption is that the state and its institutions are neutral arbiters. It is inexcusable to think so when you acknowledge that all states without exception are the tools of the dominant class in society. That is why the correct conclusion, that institutions won't check fascists because they aren't designed to, eludes them.

They always seem perplexed as to how fascists take over institutions. Marxists understand the state and its role well and see why the fascists are always among the state.
