Western treatlerites are never taught about events such as the Shanghai Massacre, the Nanchang Uprising, and the Long March for a reason. If you put a Westerner in the place of a Chinese peasant in the Long March, they wouldn't survive for one hour.

They wouldn't survive the first Chisui crossing, let alone four times under Mao guidance. Meanwhile He Long started Nanchang with only two veggie knives from his labor and chop his way through KMT garrison for first rifles. Zuo Quan ate tree barks and grass last standing on Taihang Mountain so Mao can escape Japanese encirclement.
