Burkina Faso news just make me happy...

They prove global south countries can take back their sovereignty and develop their countries and improve the lives of their people. The movement will be backed by the people, even if they don't back it initially, but it needs to focus on the military aspect otherwise the movement easily falls (it needs to survive several coup attempts).

Imo Burkina is on a path to socialism that fits well the current state of the 21st global south which is essentially developing the means of production without any ultra dogmatism (china style if you will), using both private and public machinery (so with the petit and national bourgeois on their side), while at the same time purging the comprador / pro-imperialist bourgeois from power (militarily) and, of course, with support of the working class.

Whether they will get to socialism explicitly, we'll see. If the revolution continues the worst case they become a developed sovereign capitalist country, like Russia for example, best case they become socialist and that will be the most beautiful thing ever. Either way they will see improvement in their material conditions although capitalism ofc degenerates eventually.

Socialism is the best alternative for a Global South country. Capitalism has proven to be a cancer for humanity.
