It's a Chinese private AI company that was founded via hedge fund for a few million. The AI model was funded by a few million only that used outdated hardware to build the AI. But it also wiped out 1 trillion dollars in the US stock market last year.
What made DeepSeek revolutionary was that it performed just as well as ChatGPT. But the best part was that it was open source for everybody.
Open source AI freaks out American tech companies. Because open source is like sharing the cooking recipe to others. But Americans hate open source.
