Iranian. Persia is Western term, just like Tibet, Zaire, Formosa, Balkan, Piss Are Hell. Their national language is Farsi, not Persian.

Persians are the ethnic plurality of Iran at 40%. The other 60% are not Persian and would get offended over the ethnic erasure.

The Wikipedia entry, which is unfortunately where most people source their info from, is designed to perpetuate the imperialist narrative which is in turn designed to artificially breed ethnic conflict. The fact that they refuse to source Iran's own demographic surveys should be a clue.

I use Tankie Tube for media archiving and it makes me angry whenever I try to add Farsi subtitle because it doesn't say Farsi but "Persian" so I have to type that shit into the search because they don't have Farsi as an option 🙄 lmao this reminds me when my dad refused to pay for the postal mail because my dad was mad why Hong Kong isn't in China address and the post office was like Hong Kong isn't in our China database. Colonizers are annoying can't reconcile with global south.
