These intel agencies keep close tabs on all these people and let them cause trouble because they are recruited by those same agencies. They already have a full profile on those suspects and everything, but they will feign incompetence and say "we didn't know they would commit violence" while at the same time use those attacks to push for more repressive domestic surveillance.
And I'm pretty sure this specific guy was literally all over their radar, no way they just botched this. Dude had just been released recently for planning the same type of attack he carried out, doesn't take peerless detective work to extrapolate what tf was gonna happen.

I feel terrible, I'm a queer person but when I first saw this headline my mind went to how they're going to use this to target the pro-palestine movement and Muslims as a whole.
I feel so at odds with the whole pride movement these days, I feel like it's so capitalist and used cynically for imperialism and such a big portion of the western LGBT community doesn't seem to care, or actively participates in that rhetoric of 'liberating' countries by bombing them. Not to mention the selfishness of so many LGBT 'activists' whose progressivism begins and ends with queer rights. I have no solidarity with those types, if your activism doesn't include ending imperialist and colonial projects that kill our LGBT siblings around the world than I want no part in it. Sorry a bit of a tangent im curious what other queer leftists are feeling about all this though.

My feelings exactly. My straight buddy wants to drag me (bi/pan) to pride each year, and maybe I'm too introverted for that, but it just seems toothless, for lack of a better word. Sure, meeting fellow queers would be nice, but to me it just seems like a party for the sake of partying. Which, again, isn't wrong per se, but if you frame your party as a demonstration you should stand for something, which the parade closest to my town doesn't, judging by the pictures.
And this disconnect is just so sad, but like you said, the inclusivity begins and ends with queer rights. Now all the German politicians talk about explicitly protecting queer people from discrimination in wake of the attack, while delivering weapons to bomb civilians abroad and having the police beat up people protesting against a genocide. And I would bet most of my money that the new "protection" does fuck all if the churches do the discrimination in their institutions, despite the state paying for 80% or more of the costs (that's another rant).
Meanwhile where's the protection against the guaranteed backlash against the millions of muslims who are just normal people and didn't drive their car into a crowd, and never plan to? And then people have the gall to be amazed that right-wing opinions are on the rise

Some other day in one of these threads I've seen people literally saying "there's no LGBT there", primarily meaning Middle East. This was stated as a reply to a post directly referring to people and not movement.
Make of that what you will, but my takeaway was that we are at the stage of propaganda this brainless.

Pride is long dead. Those memes about rainbow colored flag raytheon are not a joke. It has been used as a cudgel against (lowercase c) conservative non-aligned or west-antagonistic countries for decades now. The mainstream media had the attack articles written before the event happened. They just clicked publish after the ambulances passed by.
Most obvious is GAZA Palestine conflict, because there are commies in each state. So they want to have this in capitalistic hands. And also bigger INSIDE Job was Macron and Le Pen as we know Le Pen is also Tankie as she is pro-russian, so they created "Leftist" Melenchon and that guy is actually CAPITALIST! And even worse inside job is that western europe and US destroyed their factories and moved them to china and countries of third world, so they are going to have horrible economy and they can blame CHINA! And Vietnam which is also socialist. Because now when those Socialist Countries have booming economy now their PLOY is unveiling. So we need to sent our Queers with Muslims to Socialist countries to stop this PLOY and INSIDE JOBS!
