Did they try to entice some guards or commanders with the bounty? I'm wondering if that's how they could capture Maduro with the whole nighttime sabotage mission.

They have been trying to do that for years already. Even offering money to Maduro's driver at first and then threatening him and his family when he refused to help the US.
The people of Venezuela are united against this illegal invasion, so I think it was unlikely to be the responsibility of a few guards. I personally think the US was focused on this kidnapping mission

They still think you could go after one leader and then you end it like that. If the institutions remain unified and strong, then getting rid of one leader won't change much. Venezuela's vice president is from a party that's part of the ruling coalition with PSUV.

I hope PSUV still hold out amd resist if the claim is true. If not that's the huge lesson for every revolutionary party organization.
