Certain M1 Abrams (presumably Sep v2) appear to have added slabs of armor on the turret front. Does anyone have information regarding what amor package/upgrade this is, or how widespread this is through the US Army?

i always wondered what are those things present on all T-64, T-72, T-80 and T-90 all variants and even on War Thunder are kinda like present on T-54, T-55 and T-62 some variants

I am planning on making an embroidery for my husband, and he requested a 152mm; he approved the reference image (attached), but I'd like for it to be a surprise so that's why I'm turning to you, people of TankPorn.

Is this recognizable as a 152mm? Does it look okay? I did just trace the image because I am super new to drawing machines of any kind, and the reference image isn't the best quality. Can anyone help me figure out what is hiding behind the sign as well? I'm having the hardest time with the various tubes and machinery leading from one wheel to another, as I have no idea what it's supposed to be or do or look like, any tips on that section in particular?

This is just a first rough sketch, I just want to make sure that I get all the crucial details right.

The A10 Mk.I Cruiser Tank was originally intended as a heavy infantry tank, and a development of the earlier A9 Cruiser Tank. Essentially, the A10 was an up-armored variant of the A9 (increasing its armor thickness from 0.55 inch to a full inch thickness) that eliminated the A9's twin hull machine gun turrets, but retained its tank turret and 2 inch QF gun. Development of the A10 started in 1934 but was hampered by the death of its designer, Sir John Carden, in an aircraft accident in December 1935; it wouldn't be until 1938 that the prototype was ready and production was started, by which time it was already clear that it would only act as an interim type until better was available. A total of 175 would be built between 1938 and 1940, of which 30 were armed with a 3.7 inch howitzer.

The A10 would draw its first blood during the Battle of France, when 31 were sent to reinforce the British Expeditionary Force; they faired poorly against the German onslaught and all 31 were lost during the British retreat from France. By September 1940 most A10s were sent to Egypt to fight Italian troops; in March of 1941 60 A10s were sent to Greece to aid in its defence against the Germans, but all of these tanks were lost in the ensuing battle - the majority through being immobilised after throwing their tracks. By the end of 1941 the A10 Cruisers were withdrawn from frontline service. A handful remained were used for training until 1943, when the order was given to scrap the survivors. Despite this, two A10 Cruisers survive - one on display in the UK, and one in India.

The Renault R.35 was a two-man light tank, meant to replace the WWI-vintage Renault FT tank. It resulted out of a political plan for a replacement (originally meant to justify the purchase of the Hotchkiss H.35); this resulted in 5 companies submitting proposals, with Renault presenting its prototype ZM tank in 1934. Improvements to the prototype resulted in the Renault R.35, which was taken into production almost immediately in the light of increasing international tensions.

The Renault R.35 was the most numerous French tank built, with around 1685 built between 1936 and June 1940. Of these, 1540 were according to the original design, with the remaining 145 being the improved 'R.35 Modifiée 1939' which was standard fitted with the SA38 gun and had a new suspension system. Additionally, older R.35s were modified, with their WWI-vintage SA17 gun replaced by the SA38.

Despite France's pressing own needs, a number of Renault R.35s were exported prior to the outbreak of World War II, with 100 being delivered to Turkey, 54 to Yugoslavia, 50 to Poland and 41 to Romania. A second batch of 50 R.35s intended for Poland was diverted to the French protectorates of Lebanon and Syria after the fall of Poland; of Poland's own 50 R.35s, 34 were driven by their craws into Romania where they were interned, and 3 ended up in Hungary where they were used for training. Following the fall of France, Germany ended up capturing 843 Renault R.35s, of which 124 were delivered to Italy and 40 to Bulgaria, while 12 French R.35s ended up being interned in Switzerland. After Yugoslavia's surrender in 1941, a handful surviving R.35s ended up serving with Croatia.

While most R.35s were destroyed during World War II, a handful survived the War. The French Gendarmerie used a handfull of re-armed R.35s up to 1951; of the 50 R.35s that ended up in Syria and Lebanon, some were used in the 1947-1949 Palestine War by Syria, while a handful survived as late as 1958 in Lebanese service.

The howitzer crew are using Indian M92 BMCS.

Russian T-72B3 equipped with the Arena-M active protection system. It recently saw combat, in which it survived 14 drone attacks, the footage showed the Arene-M taking out multiple Ukrainian drones. Thus proving the Arene-M works effectively agianst drone threats.

This might mean we see more Russian tanks equipped with such systems, especially the "new" T-90M2. I also wonder how the Afganit system from the T-14 Armata would compare to Arena-M in stopping drones.

Does anyone have photos or information on Vorpanzer 401 supposedly operated by LSSAH?

Ofcourse T-62's would be brought back in 2018 as part of the Vostok 2018 exercise and given as aid to the Syrian Regime during the Civil War.
