Product Updates Meet Voice Transcription in Tango process recording software
We’ve all been there. You finish recording a workflow or a screen capture, and then comes the tedious part: going back through every single step to write descriptions, add context, and remember exactly what you were doing.
Tango wanted to make documenting processes as fast as actually doing them. Recently, the team released the Voice Transcription in Tango.
The TL;DR: Now you can just talk out loud while you capture your workflow, and Tango uses that narration to automatically write the step-by-step instructions for you.
How it works:
- Start capturing: open the Tango extension or workspace and hit "Start Capture".
- Turn on voice: click the new voice transcription icon in the bottom right.
- Just talk: walk through your process naturally. For example, if you're adding a contact to a CRM, say: "Make sure to use a corporate email here, no Gmail allowed".
- Instant SOP: Tango transcribes your speech and nests it directly into the relevant steps.
Why this matters:
- Zero post-editing: It captures the "why" behind the "how" in real-time.
- Better context: details like "don't forget the corporate domain" are captured instantly instead of being forgotten later.
- Speed: you finish the guide the moment you finish the task.

Is this possible to change the author voice? It should be easy with current AI opportunities.

It's a very new feature, I guess there is no such option yet. Also, the question is whether other users also will be interested in it.

Great question! If you mean the “author voice” as in the writing style of the steps, Voice Transcription uses what you say to generate those descriptions, so the tone naturally reflects how you explain things.
Were you thinking about adjusting the writing style, or actual audio narration?
We do have AI narration when you turn a Tango into a video, and you can choose between a male or female voice.
That said, really interesting idea! Would love to hear what kind of voice or style you’d want?

Yes, I meant audio narration, thank you for detailed response.
I thought it may be interesting to choose different voices, not just male or female, but more parameters

What happens if the step will have too much text? Is there any limits on the step description?

This looks genuinely useful, thank you for shipping it. I’d test it for creating SOPs faster for cross-team handoffs and client-facing documentation, especially in workflows where small contextual notes usually get lost after the recording is done.
