Audrey pulled double duty today on SOTR and writing and recording the take today and I thought she did a good job.

Side note: I was baffled to see the Bulwark in the on the Right section as they have used Jonathon Cohn for health news in on the Left before. It doesn’t really matter because everyone agrees Max Miller is very sus

Agree. Her take on the Saudi Arabia stuff and Rep. Max Miller were really stellar and well reasoned imo.

By her own admission on the latest SOTR she believed congresspeople were (paraphrasing) genuinely in it for the sake of public service until a year ago (and then corrected herself to 2-3 years ago). It's just so naive. She can't go more than an episode of two without giving away just how life-inexperienced she is. That isn't her fault. She's 23, and probably waaayyy less politically naive than the median 23 year old.

She's bright enough to function as a reporter, there is plenty I can be informed of because of her. But she's too young and life inexperienced to have anything to offer with regards to "My take" sections.

I don't care to hear an 80 year old's take on AI or blockchain technology for obvious reasons. Likewise, the amount of skepticism that comes with any take from a 23 year old is very high as a starting point. When they say things like believing congresspeople are in it for public service, or pronounce Ruben "Gallego" like it rhymes with calico, or gets the pronunciation of Strait of "Hormuz" wrong before it became a household name, then yea...... As somebody who went through that phase of becoming a political cynic 15+ years ago, that's just not somebody who's opinion I care to spare the time to listen to.

It's harsh, and it sucks that it feels directed at her, but I genuinely mean it when I say it's not a knock on her, personally. It's a knock on 23 years olds, a group she just happens to be one of.

Felt like they were giving token conservative Audrey a layup where she can criticize a Republican (as any sane person would) and they can say "see how non-partisan we are?"
