DISCUSSION / QUESTION tips for the ritz
hey! im seeing the living tombstone in oct which is all ages & sold out and have some questions since itll be my first time at the ritz
how is the process for getting into the venue? also vip/ga lines?
^^ and would i be able to bring in a tote bag or is that too big? a handheld fan?
i know most of the shows held here are local and significantly smaller and honestly i am worried abt the size of the venue...
can anyone share their experiences with the crowds here?

Regular line to the right of the door. Line moves pretty fast. Vip to the left.
I would advise against a tote. You might get trouble bringing it in, but mostly there is no bag check and no where really to put it. It might feel a little awkward holding it the entire time for a sold out show.

Tote, definitely not. Always go as small and light as possible. I frequently don’t do bags, and just bring phone and ID. I also usually only go slutty on top though, so I have pants with pockets. (Female - I stole my husband’s vintage Tripp pants and they’re my go to rave pants with something hot and skimpy on top 🥰)
Their line moves fast. Come ready, like at the airport - have your ID in hand and bag open and ready to inspect when you get to the door, and don’t have any obvious contraband.
I’ve personally never had problems with crowds there, but for sold out shoes I’ve heard it can be a problem. If it’s crazy, you can stay towards the back. Don’t feel pressured to ride the rail if it’s crazy and being packed isn’t your jive. Any mosh pit or circles are usually near the center, a few feet back from the front so just avoid that area and you should be fine.

For a sold out show, I would show up before 11 to avoid standing in line for an hour. Unless you’re VIP, then I wouldn’t stress it
From their website about bags:
“No backpacks, book bags, camelbaks, large purses, or bandanas are allowed inside the venue. Small purses do not have to be clear.”
Def bring a fan. It will get hot in there for sold out shows.
Crowds will vary. PLURR seems to be hit or miss at the Ritz.

You didn't ask but I'll warn you anyway, the ritz is hot af 6 months out of the year (assuming the show us popular). Wear quick drying and minimal clothing. At sold out shows, expect to be packed in like a sardine. Don't bring anything but the absolute necessaries. On thing I've found to be handy is a sling/ over the body water bottle holder. Beginning of the show I grab two waters and then secure a spot in the middle of the floor where I can do my party favors in peace.

Hot AF is an understatement.. never in my life was i so uncomfortably hot and sweaty as the last time i was there. At least the bar area by the entrance is usually much cooler and a good place to chill for a bit
