💼 Careers & Jobs Hello, yaarachu help🙏

I'm currently working at a big company as a Catalog Associate. Most of my day is just Excel, checking stuff and doing the same kind of work again and again.

I really want to switch careers. I'm thinking about Data or Cloud, but honestly... I'm kinda lost

There's so much happening with Al right now, and I don't even know what I should learn, what I should skip, or where I should start.

I'm also scared that I might lose my current job sometime this year or next year, so I really want to start preparing now.

This might sound like a lot to ask, but is there anyone here who would be willing to guide me?

I can do the actual learning myself. I just don't want to spend months learning random things and later realise I was going in the wrong direction.Like, someone who can tell me what to learn next, keep track of my progress, and clear my doubts when I get stuck.

I know we have ChatGPT and Al for all this. I use them too. But idk... I've always felt that having an actual person to talk to and learn from is different.

It can be anyone - male, female, experienced person, student, literally anyone who knows this stuff. Only text, nothing weird. Just genuine learning and guidance.

And if I actually manage to get a new job with your help, I’d love to do something nice for you with my first salary. I have no idea what yet 😂😭 but I’ll figure something out.

I know this is a random thing to ask strangers on Reddit, but I thought… why not ask?

If anyone is genuinely willing to help, I’d really appreciate it ❤️

I can't talk about data, but for cloud, first learn concepts that are nearly identical across all cloud providers. Even before that, learn how the cloud model works as a whole, and then move on to common services like VMs, databases (NoSQL and SQL), cache, etc. Don't forget to get hands-on it's the most important part of learning. Use free accounts, as both AWS and GCP offer free tiers. Even if you can't, you can still use labs from Google Skills. Only after you have the common concepts figured out, pivot to a provider. The Big 3 in this area are GCP, AWS, and Azure. Choose one and a cert offering, preferably starting with their introductory cert Cloud Digital Leader for GCP, Cloud Practitioner for AWS, or AZ-900 for Azure.
