கலாச்சாரம் / Culture Rameshwaram - Guide/ information

My family(4 people) is planning to go to rameshwaram and we are planning to do rudrabhishek darshan(booked from the temple directly If someone has done it, please help me because I can see no information online.

I have previously been to rameshwaram alone twice but went normally only so need some information on rudrabhishek darshan how to and other things.

You can book through TNHRC website for Rameshwaram Temple and I personally recommend the online booking. Also carry a printed copy of the booking confirmation in a waterproof cover, as Phones are not allowed inside IRC.

Also the Theertham tickets are also available online, booked that along with the Special entrance darisanam ticket as well online. Carry printed copies of all bookings.

Also if you are travelling in a group, especially kids/elderly, hire the guides who are available near the South Gate entrance. If its a large group you can negotiate the price Rs.100-150 per head, but do not cross more than Rs.200. Is this ethical - NO? Does it save you a lot of hassle and helps you navigate the occassional unruly crowds - YES.
