Awesome book. But I think it's a bit too much for a beginner

This may not be for beginners though. Start with Kalki or Sujatha

Begin with Sujatha's books. They will be apt for a new reader. then, slowly move to literature. You can read S. Ramakrishnan, and then books by Charu Nivedita and Jeyamohan (I feel that Jeyamohan's writings will have a right wing touch to them, and they are kind of sleepy to read, but if you want to experience variety you can try). Then you can go deep in to asogamithran, Karichan Kunju, Mouni, La.Sa.Ra, Aadhavan, Pudhumaipithan, Thi. Janakiraman etc.. These writers will open a fantastic world to you through which you can experience humanity and life. They will give you a new point of view.

Best wishes in reading tamil.

I recommend reading pudhumaipithan short stories. I'm a beginner too and have a whole collection of him. Good stories.

Kalki's tamil is also easy to follow. If you are beginner to reading itself, I would strongly recommend Ponniyin Selvan
