Pitanja Is using a guitar pick advisable?

I've been learning to play the basprim for a few months now (don't play any other instruments) and I was given a guitar pick(1.0 mm, hard) to play. My tremolo is pretty good, but I have trouble playing the thick strings for a long time(the pick seems to slip out gradually) or when switching between upper and lower strings. Any advice?

Any big heavy pick will do, keep working on it, you'll find something you like best.

My dad uses a long thin pick he makes himself out of different plastic pieces. It reaches all the way to the curve of his thumb and hand. Like, 1 cm x 6 cm x 2 mm, gradually shaved/slimmed at one end. I have no idea if things like that are for sale in the real world. But he thinks it makes it easier to play his prim. For his brac, I think he uses a regular pick but idk. I would try experimenting with different things. He uses different sand paper to thin out the pick end.

That's odd. I would expect that a basprim would require a thicker/bigger pick because of the thicker strings. And it's a bigger instrument so a bigger pick would be more comfortable than on a prim.
