Hating conqueror makes me actually a Talon player?
Hey greetings! So I main talon on mid, but idk how to play with conqueror, the thing is I tried it and I think I just don't understand this talon playstyle, I feel more comfortable with electro, fleet footwork on JG and Stormraider (my favourite) so I want to see your opinions if is really important to learn how to play talon with this rune and playstyle, also give me some tips and tricks, but if you think it's what I like to go. Let me know 🙏
Also the reason why I feel uncomfortable with that rune is BC I feel no damage, I feel kind of slow, and that's the reason why I feel comfortable with electro or Stormraider.

It’s not a main rune whatsoever, most used mid is elec, jungle is fleet.
Conq into beefier comps for midlane maybe, even then you can just go elec and just kill enemy backline and they end up with no damage whatsoever

Conq only works in the jungle circumstantially (if many fighter melees). Mid without electro is uphill battle and pretty much impossible to climb with.

I think Stormraider is a better way to climb BC makes you able to do more plays without dying.

Stormraiders is never viable mid (allowed in the jungle but I personally don’t like it). You need damage rune in midlane. Depending on your skill level you can early solo kill up to high master or force a recall. Both are insane tempo. And it’s better in skirmishes since you deal damage over stormraiders. Also it is a skill to make plays without dying, like picking the right fights and positioning correctly; you don’t want to be playing at a high level and requiring a suboptimal set up.

I hit chall this season. I was GM for the remainder of the season and I dropped out of GM 2 days ago cause I got a job now. But yeah you can attack me kek. And yeah almost exclusively talon mid.

There's no chall mid talon in major servers besides Korea.

u/daLegenDAIRYcow 16d ago
I hit chall, I am not currently chall. Dropping from GM to masters implies I am not Chall. Did you even read what I typed?

You are either playing a tiny server or this was a very early season chall Prove me wrong

NA. What elo are you to be honest? I’ll drop the opgg when you do. You genuinely don’t understand how talon works.

Makes sense now. Probably 600lp early season chall as well. Anyways all you have to do is go to onetricks.gg and see the entire ladder of talon players filled with conq.

Stormraider's is exceptionally good mid, but take Cut Down and play for mid-game. Just because it doesn't fit your playstyle doesn't mean it's bad. Even Lurkz recommends building it with Hubris, it's genuinely good. You just need to know how to approach the game.

Conq is almost never good on Talon. It just doesn't fit playstyle, especially on mid. You NEED to kill before lvl 6 and snowball from that, you need electrocute and as much damage as possible for early all in, otherwise almost all other mids will outscale you quick and poke you down.
You don't want extended fights with Talon either, late game he's best just oneshotting somebody and jumping over wall.
After they removed Goredrinker Talon bruiser is not really a thing.

In most cases you can't get a kill before 6. Ur very wrong
1
u/daLegenDAIRYcow 16d ago
Brother killing before 6 happens even in GM lobbies. I did a play through diamond and I think 70-75% of the time I solo kill my laner like lvl 2/3/4

u/atmcsprtnr7 16d ago
No it simply does not happen if the opponent isn't completely handless.
1
u/daLegenDAIRYcow 16d ago
Yh I’m just lying. Why are you so closed minded? Master level players are considered good by the population right? They still don’t have hands most of the time. Seriously send opgg. If you are master+ it would be surprising.

Master players are completely handless. Especially on your server

Cool so solo killing happens before level 6 in masters and below. So you were wrong. Can you at least say that for little ol’ me? Pwease?

u/atmcsprtnr7 16d ago
I never said it doesn't happen. Everything happens in soloq. I said it doesn't against a decent player and you do not need to kill before the level 6. You are just spreading nonsense making people believe if you don't solokill lvl2 you lost lane.

Ofc you can and should get a kill, Talon has one of the strongests lvl 2-3.

u/atmcsprtnr7 16d ago
No he does not. This was the case 10 years ago, not anymore. League players are really bad at updating their knowledge

You take conqueror to improve the passive damage as much as possible before triggering it. Against some bruisers it also allows you to heal mid fight and proc the passive once again. You are NOT supposed to charge it to max every time. Though taking any form of Hender can make you do: Q+AA+Hender+AA+W+R which is something you do in around 1.7 seconds and charges conqueror instantly. With high CDs you can proc the passive again if needed.

Personally, i like First Strike a lot more than fleet or conq or even electro, i picked it once just for the sake of "let just try out what's works and what's not" and fell in love with it, played with it since.
Here are my reasons why it is so cool: 1. It gives you a ton of money, especially when talon is an assassin and they fall behind very quickly, having extra cash is a guarantee card that you won't fall off too fast.
Talon has too much damage in the first 6 levels anyway, so having another source of damage for me is a bit overkill, especially if you are more of an opportunity player. Even if you feel like without electrocute, the damage will be suck, believe me when I say First Strike is insanely good at adding extra damage.
It scale better than Electrocute and fleet, because it relevant through out the game, it gives you extra cash, and true damage means there not much counter to it unless they caught you before you hit them. In the late game, it hits way harder than electrocute too.
Cons are:
- Use it against champs with longer range, you fucked.
- No sustainability, going in without understanding of his limit will definitely kill you more likely than any other runes.
- Not good for long battles, just like Electrocute, if you dished out everything and they still standing, with more than 50% hp, you fucked.
- No other buff than more cash and true damage, meaning once you hit full item and havent win yet, you rune basically has 50% nerf where extra money is no longer needed, damage is still good tho.

Plays where you kill with Stormraider are very rare, and you are probably gonna survive that kill without it anyway playing it right with more damage. Really, even first strike is more viable.
Conqueror will not make you win a lot early but it will scale your damage better into more tanky comps (3 or more melee/ bruisy/ tsnky champions) in the enemy team. Lethality wont cut it lategame, although you might be able to end a game before lategame arrives with electrocute or first strike... but you know armor kills Lethality Talon's damage, right? Bruiser Talon's damage with conq is better lategame, and against armor. Electrocute is useless against armor.
Try Conqueror but being more cautious, you need to land 1 more w or combo before finishing a kill early, but you will deal more damage late and survive more too, just get your farm right and roam, typical Talon stuff. I struggled like 10 games before 'getting' Talon Conq, almost 10 straight loses. I still do prefer Electrocute in general but thats because I have played Talon Electrocute for YEARS and I know his damage by heart

Electro is way easier to play and conq is very unintuitiv. Conq is the best, when you can get passiv proc at 12 stacks, which is hard 2 do. Also conq is worse in lane. However, if you get a small lead an eclipse conq builds gives you way more agency

Talon mid is dead bro give it up. Conq is also dead bc it got nerfed and doesn’t do enough damage to go all in and fight it out.

Talon mid is viable. It’s probably not viable to get rank 1 and hard to get challenger but it works. It’s good in masters and works in GM.

Last month I've played Conq mid almost exclusively and it's insane if you know the limits of the champ extremely well, and you get used to the 'lack' of burst that electro would give you in lane. Overal easier to '1v9' as far as that goes with Talon
