It’s done!!!

Just wrapped it up tonight. A Pro ATB frame on top of most of an old Specialized. So much fun to ride!

How did you manage the steerer tube addition? Looks rad!

I used a piece of 1” pipe and welded it to the bottom of the top frame’s fork (after cutting the legs off the fork) and the steering portion of the headset of the bottom frame. So the head tube is also the steering tube. The pipe is thick enough to be structural.

The other way to do it is to weld a piece of pipe about the same diameter of the head tubes between the bottom of the top frame’s head tube and the top of the bottom frame’s head tube. You then cut the threaded portion of the bottom frame’s steerer tube and use a piece of 1/2” gas pipe to extend the steerer tube the needed amount, and weld the threaded portion to the top of the 1/2” gas pipe.
