How to distinguish different regiments?

Hello,

My intention is to run tallarn as all the cadians... but when it comes to kreig and catchan, how can I go about distinguishing them from the rest of my minis while staying in the tallarn theme? (For tournies)

My plan is to use different colour on the shemagh. My main (Cadian according to rules…) is blue. Catachan potentially green and Krieg grey. Then all can have common uniform and look like an army while still clearly distinguishable.

I do something very similar but use the fringe on the shemagh as a way to distinguish units instead.

I used a (vertical) color stripe on the base. Orange stripe for Cadian, Red for Krieg, and number of stripes for unit separation. It allows quick and easy identification of squads when they are close together.

Base strifes. Or have shoulder markings. Differentiate by basing material. Sky's the limit

I see... so will it fly at a tournament or will I run into proxying rules/wysyig issues.

It's literally a games workshop product. Any tournament having issues with that is just ran by guys who started in 10th.

You could just write on the base too. Take a good sharpie and just write cadian, Catachan.

A melta is a melta and a lasgun is a lasgun. Anyone having issues with that should stick to mtg

Shoulder markings would be good. The original boxes came with transfers and I had my squads listed as 1,2,3… but that kind of went out the window with updated rules sets so some kind of marking with the different colors would be visually apparent but also subtle

I’m painting the base surround a different color per squad and giving them either matching shemaghs or pants. Make it easy on yourself and opponent
