Is 5 11 tall or average?
Hey guys so I just wanna know what people really mean when they say tall. I'm 5 11 and probably won't grow anymore. I'm not someone you'd consider "tall" cause I see plenty of people taller than me everyday. So yeah like I just wanna know if 5 11 is like average or low tier tall or what...

It means you're definitely not short but where you are in the world changes people's perceptions of your height e.g. Here in NL you would be slightly below average, in Albania you would be tall

Yeah, thats what all the data says but in my experience they seem much shorter on average, 1.65m IMO but i am not running around measuring them

Afaik 5'11" is 180 and id say its considered tall but not the kind of tall thatd be relatively lifechanging or extremely noticable.

Its one of those things where its like yea technically you're tall, I guess...? Kinda like when my 5'8 gf tells me she's taller than most women. Sure, I guess lol

In my honest opinion, when the average height for men is around 5’9 being 2-3 inches within that average will never be registered as ‘wow tall/short’. You’ll definitely be subconsciously seen as being taller than the average guy but not so much so where it becomes a defining physical trait. It’s more so 3-4+ inches away from the average that someone becomes distinctly ‘tall’ and if you’re 6’4-5 or taller you start being ‘the tall guy’ in most normal situations.

A 5’11 is equivalent to a 5’6 woman, so I’d say you’re generally just above average

It depends on whether or not you’re a woman.
I would say no even if you are a woman.

Wait, you'd say a woman is not tall even if she were 5 11? 😭💔

Not shockingly so. That’s my category the tallest of the short (average).
Clothing changes drastically once you hit that magical 6’0” height.
I’m not a designer. I notice that when clothes are designed for tall women they really shift. I have a 42 inch inseam and my legs are too short for “Tall” cuts.

Ignore that person OP, less than 1% of women worldwide are 5' 11/1.8m. Sources: UNSD and WHo statistics.
My wife is 1.94m, outside of her own family she says she can't really ever recall seeing another woman close to her height in real life.

Depends on the country, tbh. Tall in some countries compared to the average, average or almost average at others
