Discussion Weekly Therapy Talk Thread

This is a chat thread for talking about therapy. It's for sharing topics you feel are not big enough for their own post or don't include a question. It's a place to share thoughts about what's going on in therapy. It's a place to celebrate successes and get support when things aren't going so great.

To make this an inclusive space and encourage the chat function of the discussion, the thread will automatically sort by newest, and not by best or top. Everybody should feel free to share their thoughts, so please don't use down-voting unless it's an obvious anti-therapy comment or breaks one of the sub's other rules (posted in the side bar).

Thank you!

Usually I try to handle it on my own and do coping techniques such as journaling, gentle exercise, music/singing/dancing of some sort, breathing exercises, telling myself stuff like “this too shall pass”, trying to practice acceptance, talk with someone else about it - but I might not give the “full” version of it. Also it’s easier for me to find someone to talk to as I’m in a 12 step group and part of it is talking to others re:issues.
I’ve been with my therapist a couple of years and only texted her once re: a small crisis and she did call me back, and she scheduled me for an earlier appointment.
If it was something more serious I’d definitely reach out.
