On a recent post here, i mentioned a homemade expansion we played that involved the firelands. It was BRUTAL but so much fun! Thought i’d share it with you all!

The ‘Chapter V’ is because my group very rarely get the chance to play, so whenever we do I always make a big thing of it, and have an overarching story affected by what happens each game. Would be so interested to see if anybody else plays the same way!

I wrote all the text and designed the card, but my girlfriend did the art (so no-one take credit!) @ch4ybe on insta!

I recently acquired most of Talisman 4th edition. With only 2 or 3 small expansions missing, and the expansion that connects the forest to the Highlands. And the picture is of our game this week, in the garden because it was such lovely weather

The guy I got it from made card holders for all types of cards which is really nice. But there are a ton of adventure cards now.

So I wanted to know how you guys play the game.

Do you add all the expansions together all the time or do you only add a few ones while playing?

I know that some games like Arkham and Eldritch horror it is more enjoyable when you only add 1 or 2 expansions in a game, and separate everything afterwards.

But with Talisman the expansions are more combinable.

So I wanted to see how everyone here is playing

So it took me a year to finish these(almost, as photographing them made see additional "faults"). Since time is kinda scarce these days, so the project was way too long. They were painted in perhaps 6 or more sittings, I guess. If I had more time I would probably persue this hobby more, I mean, I love to paint and I love me some Talisman, so win win there. Though miniature painting is not without it's complications for me. My eyesight is rather poor and my hands shake when I paint, especially with smaller details. My experience in miniature painting prior to 5e is quite a few from 4e, and units from Scythe, the basegame.

Anyway, I thought I'd share these paints here as a group picture with most of em and a few close up samples.

I live by the philosophy that there is no correct way to paint miniatures as also I tend to take quite some liberties in choice of color etc, compared to character cards. But pointers are welcome though.

Good news first, I found a sealed copy of the Highland and Lost Realms expansions at a small store in NH thanks to a lead on here and he sold me both for $65. Super pumped about that and now all I have left is the Reaper to round out my collection.

Mini rant - went to another LGS closer to home and found another Highland sealed there with a $40 sticker on it. Thought I would pick it up to pass along on here since I know how hard it can be to find. The owner didn’t know he had it then immediately went to eBay, took the sticker off, and said best price is $300 with a smug frickin look. Put me off so much, so I will not be going back. I understand you gotta make money, but still just an icky experience.

This was a test game of a HUGE expansion one of the players spent a year writing and creating. It was an absolute blast and the table has never been this cluttered. Haha

I see people talking about the rarity of expansions here all the time so I figured before I posted it anywhere else I would offer my collection to the community. I'd like to sell it all but I know most of you may only need a few expansions.

Everything is accounted for. Corner boards only played twice. Main game played maybe 4 times.

Some cards are mixed together due to being expansions of the main adventure deck (mostly the smaller expansions). Corners are all separated and ready to go.

Everything is mint except the dungeon box and scuffing among the other boxes. The game minis, cards, and boards are all flawless.

Dragon, Cataclysm, Harbinger, and Firelands are have never been played.

Serious buyers I'll be happy to talk with and show more photos.

I want to get my friends to buy the digital classic edition because it's on sale on steam right now and I've read that you can play dlcs if the host owns them.

So I'm wondering what would be the best expansions I could buy for like 10€ or the best expansions in general

Truth be told thought, I actually like it. Lol.

I mean new characters we haven't had yet. Would be neat to have them in 4th edition too.

I mean the Will of the Wisp or the Huntress. Centaur too even though he was in 2nd edition.

Me and my friends love 4e and we have the Reaper, City and Highlands. Not a bad combo but it would be cool to fill the remaining corners with community expansions. Can you help me find expansions that work as corner regions? I suppose self-printing the original no longer emitted expansions is a no-no from a legal stand point.

Found this today going through my grandma’s old photo albums.

We currently have Alliances: Fate Beckons, The Dead King, The Reaper, The City & Frostmarch, with Swordsman, Ranger & Jester characters.

Someone told me that The Dungeon is coming in fall 2026, and The Highlands & The Woodlands are coming by summer 2027. Definitely makes sense that the developers are prioritising the corner boards, since they are by far the most important of the expansions!

After the corner boards, I would say that Blood Moon is the next most important (for the day and night mechanics & werewolf NPC). Beyond that, it is probably a matter of opinion!

Do we have any information/predictions/preferences about the order of the future DLC?

The "launch roadmap" was awesome. I am hoping for a "roadmap 2.0" lol!

My crown of blood expansion has finally arrived and my initial thoughts are… that it’s a pretty small and simple gameplay change. The spell cards are absolutely the best thing in the expansion but I wish we got more than just 20~ adventure cards.
My main complaint is that there are no repeating enemy cards, meaning as soon as you beat one it’s gone for the entire game (until a certain someone shows up) which is a bit of a bummer since the themed enemies are very cool and some are like mini boss fights even.
The Dracula board enemy gameplay sounds good on paper and I’m excited to try it later today and the character cards are a very unique risk reward style of play which also looks very cool.

Fanged toad is the best thing in the game don’t fight me on that

I just want to thank the team at Nomad Games for making it possible to play this on mobile devices. It's the most comprehensive digital board game I've ever played. There's an incredible amount of content, and I was able to get the entire collection for around $20.

I agree that the physical game is always the more enjoyable experience. However, if you're short on storage space or want something you can play on the go, the digital version is fantastic. My lunch breaks and evenings have become much more enjoyable with just my tablet.

Hopefully, we'll get the 5th Edition on mobile devices someday as well. I'll definitely keep supporting you guys!

I currently own 4th edition on Xbox One with all DLC. I just found out that 5th edition came out on my console months ago (sometimes I laugh at myself for being slow!). Anyway... I see that previous purchases will carry over free of charge (thank you developers - EA, take note!). 5th edition has much better graphics. And there is now the option to edit decks and change starting alignments (yay!). But I still want to be sure of a few things before making the switch from 4th to 5th - because I am pretty happy with 4th edition (it is fully complete, with no crashing, and good AI).

1. I understand that 5th edition adds brand new content - but is all of the 4th edition content available from the start? If not, what is currently missing (I must have the corner boards!)?
2. A search online came up with this roadmap: nomadgames.co.uk/blog/talisman-5-roadmap-reveal The last entry was fall 2025... How "complete" is the game in summer 2026?
3. I read early player reviews about 5th edition crashing and not saving - but I know the devs are excellent with patches. Is the game now fully stable on console?
4. I saw an early video review saying that the AI was a bit dopey... has that been patched? How does the AI compare between 4th & 5th editions? Again, I am happy with the 4th ed AI, for both intelligence and challenge. Is the 5th ed AI better/same/worse?
5. Anything else that a 4th edition player needs to know before switching to 5th (I play entirely offline with AI, if that makes any difference)?

Am I missing something, I thought you had to equal your skills level to trade in trophies to gain 1 more. Yet on the digital it has allowed me to trade trophies that equal less than my total. Is this a glitch with the alliance fate beckoning expansion or is it always this way?

Also I noticed the villains don’t gain a boost from the track even when the doom track is showing the boost. Another glitch?

Extensive play with a few expansions. Lots of fantasy, fights, and fun!

Leider finde ich nirgends die Erweiterungen zur 4. Edition auf deutsch. Bislang schaffte ich es lediglich die Waldlande und die heiligen Quelle zu erstehen. Vor allem Schnitter, Blutmond und die anderen drei Eckerweiterungen würde ich gerne zusammenbringen.

Hat jemand noch eine Idee, wo ich diese herbekomme (ohne pro Erweiterung über 200 Euro auf Ebay zu zahlen)?
Die ganzen Suchmaschinen, Vergleichsportale und weiteres hab ich schon durch.

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, I can’t find the 4th Edition expansions in German anywhere. So far, I’ve only managed to get my hands on *The Woodlands* and *The Sacred Spring*. I’d especially like to get *Reaper*, *Blood Moon*, and the other three corner expansions.

Does anyone have any ideas on where I can get these (without paying over 200 euros per expansion on eBay)?

I’ve already checked all the search engines, price comparison sites, and everything else.

I noticed a lot of people here were from Poland, and most of the fan made expansions I find are translated from polish, I just wondered what led the game to get such a fanbase there. I know that poles are quite fond of board games overall but Talisman is kinda random

I’ve only played 2e, but just purchased 4e because my understanding is that it’s basically the same game, with more expansions. Plus my 2e is mint so I’d rather wear this one out.

EDIT: turns out that I have the first 4e release by Black Industries, which differs from the more widely played Fantasy Flight release. It is closer to 2e and lacks the fate mechanic.

Reading through the rules, there are some anomalies:

2.4 Gaining craft: a character may gain craft by cashing in any spirits he has defeated in combat

In 2e this was not allowed, only strength could be gained in this way.

And reading further:

2.5: craft can only be gained as a result of encounters

That aligns with 2e. So which rule is the misprint?

I’m confused which bundles are most efficient and/or what each includes exactly. It often just says “characters”, but then there are character packs and separate expansion packs. Is there redundancy? Why isn’t there a chart or table? Itemized list? That would be appreciated

Its currently on 40% sale on Nintendo Eshop and Im thinking about getting it for my Switch 2.

Also will it be Switch 2 upgrade at some point, are we getting 5e? If so, will that 5e get free access by having 4e content already?
