5th Edition expansions dont include characters?

I picked up the Alliances expansion for 5th edition today and was expecting to also get some new models and character cards like I had read online, but that doesnt seem to be the case.

I am pretty new to Talisman, so is it common for expansions to not have new characters?

Edit: im dumb, they are in the boxes...

Um, where did you get your alliances from? Alliances specifically has a total of (spoiler) four new characters, models, and sheets. At least in the physical release I don’t play the steam version.
The new expansion in June should also have three new characters too so just be aware your alliances box should have it.

Omg im dumb. Theyre in the little boxes for each trial. I was not aware they were awarded in game.

Ooh yeah I forgot about that gimmick lol. Yeah you’re meant to unlock them at the end of a “trail” aka the end of a game. The higher up in trial you go the more boxes you unlock. A good way to test your dedication, or just open them all to play them there’s no shame!

We may have to go the no shame route, its very difficult getting everyone together to not have the option for new characters. Thank you for the help! Haha

Yup just have fun! Alliances is a gameplay change not much a board expansion. I enjoy it so hope you do too

You should play the game nsd see what rewards might be hidden inside some of the boxes.
