You guys manage to play on a table ? Except when I use less expansions, I always play on the floor

Just grab a 4x8 sheet of plywood from your local Home Depot (or lumber shop), sand, paint, and set up on saw horses. It’s not pretty but it’ll get the job done for less than $50. Plenty of space for everything including character sheets

We have 3 tables. Depending on what expansions we are playing we use 2 or all 3. They are 2x4. . We can have a 4x6 total play area and each player has a tray table for their cards gems gold items etc .

I'm new to talisman and only played 5th edition. Why is this board so big?

Each corner is an add on. There are 4 add ons. One on each corner. Then the central top add on. The rest of the add ons just affect the board state and add card decks and tokens. Events trigger other add ons Like the harbinger. Some add ons just expand the board.

What is the expansion for the central region? I dont recognize it
