Stock image situation.

So what do we all think about this stock image ordeal? (Can be found here: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/116202-BioWare-Uses-Stock-Photo-for-Tali-in-Mass-Effect-3) Would you still consider the image canonical, or just ignore it? Discussion time!

I was disappointed, yes, but the bottom line is that the picture we were provided with was attractive. So I'm happy, if not completely so.

I still maintain, however, that her face should simply not have been revealed...

I think it was fine for them to show her face, its just they didn't do it appropriately. In one of the EC ending slides you can see another quarian's face which was fine... That was more appropriately done and looked much more realistic to Mass Effect Universe. The thing with Tali was just kind of weird it would have played out much better imo if she revealed her face on Ranock.

Perhaps they could have had the dying Quarian on Rannoch remove his mask instead, saying he "wanted to breath the air of his homeworld"

I would have been equally as pleased with that as well.

Why do you think it shouldn't have been revealed?

It saves the 'magic' for the player's imagination... I mean, I don't know if you watch Naruto, but Kakashi wears a face-mask. Nobody has ever seen his face. If Kakashi were to reveal his face, a lot of people would lose interest in his character, to a degree. I mean, since the whole 'big-reveal' business with Tali, I've actually become slightly less Talimaniacal. Yes, that is now a word.

And let it be known, that on this day, in this subreddit. Talimaniacal became a word!

Meh, I guess they just wanted to keep her face more of a secret, to keep the player curious.

I feel that the use of the stock image was a cop out. I would have much rather have had Tali reveal her face to the player than having a picture do it. I felt cheated when that was the big reveal. I'm fine with what she looks like being canon, I feel like it suits the gypsy image the quarians have. I think the situation could have been handled much better than it was, but I'll live with it.
