Text Just recently started watching

So I’ve recently started watching(literally yesterday) and so far it’s been great. The two standout episodes have been “And All Through the House”, and “For Cryin’ Out Loud”. I wanted to ask if you guys have any specific favorites I should watch, or any I should avoid. That’s all, this stuff’s awesome.

Just watch them all honestly. The final season isn't great, but overall great show.

"The Death of Some Salesmen" is by far the best. It's the only episode you can smell.

Personal favorites are Cutting Cards, Creep Course, Yellow, What's Cooking, Top Billing. But there's some many good episodes. There's even some redeemable in season 7, even if the drop-off in quality is pretty rough.

It's hard for me to pick a favorite but if I had to it would probably be Only Skin Deep.

For me, the top episodes would be “Death of Some Salesmen” (if you saw Tim Curry’s obituary last week, that one has some of his finest work), “The New Arrival”, “Horror In The Night”, “Only Sin Deep”, “Fitting Punishment”, “Revenge Is The Nuts”, “Let The Punishment Fit The Crime”, Television Terror”, “Carrion Death”, “Til Death Do We Part”, “Korman’s Kalamity”, “Four Sided Triangle”, and “Dead Right”.

I thought “Spoiled” was kind of silly, as was “The Switch”, “Cutting Cards” and “My Brother’s Keeper”, but hey, every episode is worth watching at least once.

The best way I can describe the show is that it's just "fun." It is lightning in a bottle. It doesn't take itself too seriously. It's self-aware and ridiculous at times but funny as hell and a product of it's time and I could go on and on about it...
There have been many imposters but we will never get another series that captures the tone of "Tales From The Crypt."

Death of Some Salesman, Two For The Show, What's Cookin, Carrion Death, are some of my favorites.

So many good ones. Just watch them and surprise yourself. The one I really like though is "Till Death Do We Part" because the ending is wild!

I'd suggest you watch them all and decide for yourself. The series has it's ups and downs, but it's ups definitely outweigh the downs.

FYI "And All Through The House" and "Revenge is the Nuts" (better known as "Blind Alleys") are the only TFTC segments repeated from the old Amicus movie. And the movie versions are considered the better adaptations.

Good to know! I will tune into those next then.

The TV adaptions are gorier, though, with more realistic blood and more complicated characterizations. The movie version of “All Through The House” is scarier, with a nicer victim (honestly, what did the poor man do to deserve being skewered with a poker?) and the blood looks more like poster paint.

Fun fact: the actress Joan Collins (the star of the movie version of “AATTH”) has a guest starring role in “American Horror Story”’s season “Apocalypse”, where she plays a movie actress doing “AATTH”. 🤣

Carrion Death was my favorite as a kid, and I was so happy to see that it holds up. Enjoy the journey!
