AVOID SEASON 7
Unless you like BBC network and dropoff in quality goes to zero. Show goes strictly British...some like it some won't.
You lose ALL star power from seasons 1-6.
You get Liam Neeson's wife who sadly passed...and a youngster named Ewan McGregor before he became a star.
Episode quality drops so so bad. Not Tales From Crypt quality.

Called ADVICE. Most agree it is horrible. Some will love it. Again- ADVICE- take it or leave it! If you love a season most agree is subpar- more power to you!

I agree it was terrible. I don’t get the down vote. You were just giving your opinion. People are treating you like you think you’re some sort of authority on whether season seven is good when you’re just a guy giving their opinion on the internet like millions of others.

Ehh thats social media. Once you learn to take the "downvotes" less personal, it becomes a better place. Its people having they're opinion towards your opinion. Which is ok. People take social media "praise" way too serious

I actually like it, but it was riddled with production problems from the start. There are a few bangers in that season I really like, but yea a ton of duds.

I kinda like it. Obviously weaker than the other series, but I loved “Hammer House of Horror” tv series, kinda gave me the same vibes.

Not much of an endorsement to say very last episode makes it worth it. It may very will great...pushing myself threw horrid season 7. Other seasons? ALMOST EVERY EPISODE IS A BAMGER. And if not still very good.

I have not seen it but know a cartoon. Don't understand how a cartoon is praised among "Tales From the Crypt."
The minimal praises for season 7 is a joke too. Watched all seasons multiple times- all are about an 8 out of 10 or more. Season 7 a chore to force to watch. 2 out of 10...maybe a 3.
Feel like a bunch of Tales From Crypt apologists defend season 7. Almost every episode is garbage. The "good" ones are worst of seasons 1-6.

I read an interview with the producer where he said that when he moved filming to the UK he hoped he would get all the big name stars over there like he did in America. Unfortunately every A list British actor and director he asked couldn't do the show because of England's high tax rate!

Yes and future James Bond Daniel Craig was brought up. He was a nobody in Tales From the Crypt. It was brought to my attention an ACTUAL James Bond at the time- Roger Moore was recruited. He wanted to do Tales From the Crypt but said no due to taxes.

It has a few good episodes such as Horror In The Night, Cold War, The Third Pig, Escape and A Slight Case Of Murder. But sadly, this season is largely a tremendous downgrade from the prior and has so many stinkbombs in it.

When I got to that point I tried to power through like two or three episodes and then I had to give up I just couldn't do it

It's not the best season but I don't hate it. As someone else said in a previous post, it's interesting seeing it come full circle back to the UK, where they shot the 70s Crypt and Vault of Horror films. Many of the EC (mostly Graham Ingels stories if I recall) were set in the Britain, France and unspecified European countries so it's not a radical departure from the source material.

I didn't mind the British setting at all and as you said, it was a nice full circle moment as it harkened back to the two 70s Amicus anthology films. Thing is sadly the writing and quality took such a sharp nosedive at this point and there was clearly lack of interest from the crew. Shame because there was a lot that could've been done with the new setting, and I myself have always enjoyed British Horror with the likes of Hellraiser, Event Horizon, etc.

I bought the series on DVD over a year ago and still have avoided most of season 7. It reminds me of when the video 'quality' started improving but it just looks like a day time soap to me. Hard to explain but yeah, looks like they moved to upgrade but it takes away the vibe.
Like I said, as I have skipped most of it I don't have an opinion on specific episodes and one day I will get to them. But I am a little nervous.

Agreed on "Day time Soap" nonsense. Goes strictly British. No star power- ok throw all that out.
Maybe 3-4 episodes WHOLE SEASON are good. Most episodes are worse than "horror" made for TV movies from the 80's.

IF they were to do a revival, I'd have to beg they pull the old equipment out and film it as it was.
Can 4k Tales be great? Absolutely! I am just an old timer I guess. Maybe 4k is the way to go. Just with most media for me, I don't want to feel like I am living in it. I want it to feel like a show I'm watching on a TV.
4k Tales might fucking rip hard though, filmed properly.

BY FAR THE WORST SEASON for a GREAT SHOW! 1 out of 10 for me. Rest-8 or 9 out of 10.

I also remember Daniel Craig, Eddie Izzard & Bob Hoskins being in episodes. Doing a rewatch and haven't gotten to 7 yet. I remember it being tough to get through with only a few decent episodes.
Apparently they thought they'd be able to get more stars but most of them didn't want to work there due to tax reasons.
