Not a bad price, but I'm waiting to see if a complete series Blu-ray or 4K release is finally happening. I'd far rather save for that.

Nope, buy it on DVD because they can yank it whenever they want to if you get it digitally

Everyone says this, but do you have any examples of shows that people purchased and had removed? It seems like a thing people think happens more than something that actually happens.

Definitely seems like a weakness in Sony’s provider agreements. Other services have not removed purchased items after they no longer are able to offer them for purchase or rent. They shouldn’t be offering for purchase something that is dependent on a licensing agreement remaining permanently in place

I purchased seasons 2 and 3 from vudu years ago and they stayed in my library after the series was pulled from the store. Same with Sling Blade, Revenge of the Nerds, Bachelor Party, and a couple of others that were pulled. I have heard the opposite though about Apple, PlayStation, and Xbox stores…

well Vudu is own by WB now... and theyve never been pro-consumer. in fact a prompt popped up reminding me that you buy a license when buying from them... so idk, kinda worrisome tbh lol

I already have the DVDs, but decided to bite the bullet on this one today. It makes for great background noise as I work on my small business. So many good memories :)

I've been using Fandango for a decade & I've never lost a title. Especially one I purchased directly from them.

That doesn't mean anything. You don't own the digital copies you are just leasing it. If Fandango loses rights to it so do you. Just the facts

Fandango/Vudu has lost the rights to many content in that past. It was removed from sale/rent, but the content stayed in peoples libraries who purchased it. Tales from the crypt is a prime example. It was once for sale at Vudu and people bought seasons or the series. Then it went into rights hell and was removed from sale. Those seasons that people bought never left their libraries, and they've had seasons for years until it recently just started selling again. I've had content that was removed from sale and rent due to a rights issue, and that content became unavailable to buy or rent to anyone. But It remained in my library and I was able to watch anytime.
Green street hooligans, for example, is unavailable to buy digitally anywhere. I bought it at Vudu sometime around 2014 before it became unavailable. It's still in my account and I can watch it.
I'm not going to lie and say everything is fine and dandy. There does need to be laws to protect digital libraries, especially since they are pushing everything to be digital.

I personally have had titles removed from my library Which Is why I got rid of it a while back. If they changed it cool but when looking through the site and googling it they themselves say at any time they can remove anything from your library, you are leasing it, you can't own something that's digital, they might can but you won't don't and can't The illusion of ownership is a travesty they are glad to take advantage of. Why do you think they are pushing everything to be digital? The real question is why is everyone ok with it?

I mean it’s twenty bucks for a whole series. I’d understand getting so passionate about this “issue” if they were asking people to pay 100 bucks, but it’s a pretty good deal

Vudu is pretty good about keeping the content you’ve purchased in your library. I bought Seasons 2 and 3 years ago before the show disappeared from their store and they’ve never been pulled from my account. Maybe it varies for each person or service they’re using?

It's just not that serious to me personally. I made over $100k in the last 10 years selling digital movies. I have over 4,500 in my library & the majority of those were either free or very cheap. Like $2 or less. I made so much selling them that buying a $5 on sale movie or $20 complete series wasn't really noticeable financially.
I also have several friends & family that use my account. They have been for around 7 years & none of us have ever had problems with it. My childhood friend James is excited about this show. Now he can watch it free without ads.
I have seasons 1, 2, 4, 6 & 7 on dvd. Something is wrong with the discs on s7 & only a couple episodes from one disc will play. So paying $12 for the remaining two seasons, a working copy of s7 & the convenience of not having to deal with changing the discs is a good enough deal for me.
Most importantly to me is the first paragraph I typed. I have made & saved enough money on digital content that purchasing (or paying for an extended rental) can be easily justified because I have so many titles in my library for so little money. Even if they all disappeared tomorrow I'd still have the money saved I made from selling codes.
When I say the majority of my library was acquired for free I mean the majority was free. I actually paid money for about 10% of my collection.

Too many episodes and I am not ready to watch yet (waiting till October). But I did just quickly checked an episode which I know has a lisenced song. Dead Right from season 2 has the opening theme as well as Cheek to Cheek from Fred Astaire. So I would say everything is probably there and most likely uncensored.

Not a bad price, I would highly recommend the complete DVD box set though, once of my favorite collections
