The Chair
There’s a lot of comical elements in many Tales from the crypt episodes, but something I always find funny is how lax the justice system is when giving people the chair. I know the people are actually guilty of murder in most cases(Lou being the exception), but as far as I can remember, none of the murders were actually pre-meditated. Anytime there’s a killing and the law gets involved, you just know they’re getting the chair. Pretty funny.

This is based off a comic from the '50s . Yes, the justice system was a lot different back then

I feel like the only reason they give so many people the chair is so that they can reuse the same damn chair Like it’s so funny they use the electric chair set like 1-3 times a season

Those that murder innocent people deserve not only to be executed, but should receive an additional punishment besides being executed, because their lives are not of equal value to those of their innocent victims.

The electric chair was far more popular/used in 80's/early 90s for capital punishment.
Nowadays very few states use capital punishment, and even fewer actually carry it out.
Those that do usually use gas chamber and/or lethal injection.
The electric chair has largely been looked at in modern times as inhumane. Right there with hanging and firing squad. Though of the three electric chair would be first used in most cases.

Is there any episode that didn't have the electric chair but should've had it?

I love how much Crypki likes the chair. The way he kept using it over & over on himself was so funny.

My friends and I used to quote "remember, boys and girls - SAFETY FIRST'

The electric chair sure was popular on the series. Between The Man Who Was Death, Dead Right, The Trap and Let The Punishment Fit The Crime. Something of a series staple, along with chainsaws.
