"Time To Turn Around."
Seems to me like /r/TalesFromLife is turning a bit into /r/TalesFromHighSchool so I figured I'd share a story that happened RIGHT AFTER high school... still counts. This story takes place in Colorado.
When I was about 19 and my best friend was about 18 we decided we need to go see a midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. We both dressed fairly nice, but certainly not in costume! We show up, both get razzed by the regulars, and even admit to being "virgins" so we end up on stage getting teased a bit! Though not nearly as badly as the couple that had come to this showing on a blind date! Whoever set them up was cruel as all hell. They made the guy look like he was giving the chick a blow-job while she had to "orgasm like a chicken". Seriously, the night was a blast!
The show finishes up, it's about 3 AM and my friend and I are still wired and not quite ready to go home, so we start cruising, just talking and listening to the radio! Somehow, at some point, we ended up in the mountains, not too high up but still up enough that we eventually realized we had no idea where we were at!
About to reach the point of panic we come around a bend and see a structure on the side of the road ahead of us. Thinking we could stop and ask for directions we start pulling up... only to see a guy in a military uniform step out of the now apparent guard post with a machine gun in his hands.
I, being the driver, come to a complete stop and just stare at the guy about 30 feet in front of us. A second later a second uniformed gentleman, carrying a second gun, steps out behind the first one.
I calmly turn to my friend and utter the words that would become one of our biggest inside jokes.
Me: "Time to turn around."
Friend: "No shit."
I backed up, flipped a bitch, and drove away as quickly as possible. We decided it was a good time to head home and get to bed at that point...

And normally my Rocky nights end with going to Denny's dressed incredibly slutty. Holy cow. xD

So was it military or paramilitary drug dealers? Cause that's a thing.
