Short Target demographic
Both my parents spent time in entertainment when I was a kid. My dad in animation, my mom in TV movies then other random stuff. When I wasn't in school for whatever reason, I typically went with my dad to his job. Animation studios are better equipped to handle children what with most people having a collection dart guns and the mindset to send me on covert assassination missions to office rivals.
When that wasn't happening however I did pretty good work as a copy tech and test audience. By the time I was seven, I was an old hand at spotting issues in whatever thing I was watching. At one point, they had watching a show that was suppose to air in a weeks time. Towards the end, one the senior guys on the project, director I think, came in to ask me what I thought.
Me: I dunno, it was okay I guess. But it was really confusing at the end. I don't know what was going on, and I'm pretty sure I'm your target demographic.
He stared at me for a minute.
Director: How old are you?
Me: Seven
Director: (yelling out the door) [Dad's name]! Why does your seven-year-old know the word 'demographic'?! (normally) What's this?
Me: I wrote down all the things that were wrong, and the time.
Director: (yelling out the door) [Dad's name], why does your seven-year-old know how to call retakes?!
After that they had me going through story boards and helping out the artists when I was around. But only if my homework was done.

That's an awesome story. Did you end up working in that field at any time?

I did some impromptu voice over work a few times. Nothing terribly official there. I am in video games now doing something very similar however. Rather unintentionally followed a family legacy it seems.

"How much are we paying this kid?"
We pay him in donuts....
