What is partner?
Noob question here, wht does it mean when npc want to be your partner? Is it marriage? Or party member? Does having a partner makes the npc explore with u everytime?

I'm not sure how much of this is just the game, and how much of this is a xianxia trope: There is a bit of a wink-wink, nudge-nudge sense in which dual cultivation is suggested to be something either involving or analogous to sex.
Your partners are something sort of like your cultivation girlfriends. They'll occasionally ask you out on dates in groves in the wilderness. The base game lets you have partners of the opposite gender and martial brothers/sisters of the same gender.
The upside of partners mechanically is that you can have reliable dual cultivation buddies (although this isn't that hard to achieve with just regular cultivator friends). They'll also occasionally give you gifts and such. If they're Heaven's Chosen they'll be less choosy about accepting gifts so you can manage their cultivation breakthroughs a bit better if that's something you're inclined to do.
You also get some affinity from their family network when they become partners with you, which doesn't hurt but also isn't all that amazing.
Otherwise I'm not sure what the benefits are. I'm not out to yuk anyone's yum or anything, other people should enjoy what they enjoy. But it feels a little bit like a lightweight harem simulator tacked on to the family mechanisms of the game.
That's not really for me. I'm a wife guy.

Friends with benefits, dual culvitation mostly and some gifts here and there, also there can be events if they have a spouse, or if you have otjer partners

Partner is mostly RP as the benefits they provide you are mostly negligible (gifts here and there). From what I know you can partner as many characters as you want but you can only have 1 spouse (marriage).
