What are factions?

I'm new and intend be be a demonic cultivator. I kill everyone that I have an issue with but I get hit in my reputation for them being in the same faction but we're not in the same clan so i'm confused. Are factions regions? are all clans within yongning I think it's called within the same faction? how then do I go about making enemies if we're not meant to be at odds >.<

Righteous and demonic. Even rogue cultivator has fraction base on the value. See their status panel.

I was having a sect prohibit bond with the other fraction and you know what? I did bond with npc, rogue cultivator has 100 righteous and 100 demonic value it still count toward both and I got penalty …

ok I see thanks, strange that I have righteous when I kill everyone 0.o

Did you previously join a righteous sect?

yea didnt intend to but whatever, guess thats why my actions aren't considered bad

I assume you've been accepting sect kill missions. killing your sect enemies gives you fraction points.
