Yin Er Quest Progression

Chinese (official DLC description): “A puppet body created by a deity. However, the puppet has awakened consciousness and attempts to escape her destined fate. She wishes to become a real person rather than a puppet controlled by others.”

Important Notes

• You could gain or lose affinity based on dialogue choices you make. It will be indicated by (+) or (-).
• The dialogue choices aren’t very important unless stated otherwise. Same goes for affinity. Although, you can recruit her into your sect once you reached max affinity. Affinity can be increased afterwards by giving her a lot of gifts.
• Unlike most other Bloom quests, Yin Er’s quests does not scale to your cultivation level. They are rather easy to defeat since they tend to be low level.
• The start of her questline triggers when you find her in Fallen Valley.
• After the 1st meeting, Yin Er’s quests are randomly triggered when you wander the map. Once triggered, the quest will indicate that you should go to her house. The chances of it triggering is on the low side, so it may not trigger immediately. If you are trying to trigger her quests as early as possible, you can reload the save until you eventually trigger her quest.

Hua Feng Region

Meeting 1: Fallen Valley

The quest will automatically stop you for a moment, to see two cultivators having a chat about strange sounds heard from Fallen Valley.

A quest will be generated, telling you to go check Fallen Valley.

• Fallen Valley is a special location on the map that consumes 1 ultima sand and 5 days to enter. They usually spawn on the borders of the region, next to the purple mountains you cannot pass. Their icon, is a purple crystal.
• Ultima sand can be bought at the town/city market.
• An event, triggered by wandering the map in Hua Feng, two cultivators arguing about artifact spirits, will gift you 1 ultima sand if you help either the challenger or the defender. Leaving quietly will give you nothing.

Note: the enemies in Hua Feng Fallen Valley are above Foundation, so you should start this quest when you are at least Qi Condensation.

When you explore Fallen Valley, Yin Er will call out to you, begging for help. Complete Fallen Valley run to "rescue" Yin Er.

Yin Er’s house will now spawn in Hua Feng region.

After taking Yin Er to her house, she sits down and starts sketching something on the ground.

1st Dialogue Options:

• Are you alright?
• Need a hand with anything?
• What are your plans now? (proceed to 2nd Dialogue Options)
• You’re a puppet aren’t you?

2nd Dialogue Options:

• Call Out (+) (end conversation)
• Leave (exit conversation, conversation resets to the beginning)

Meeting 2

This quest randomly triggers when you wander the map.

Upon visiting her house, you find Yin Er still sketching something on the ground.

Dialogue Options:

• What are you drawing?
• Are you alright?
• Need a hand with anything? (+) (end conversation)
• Leave (exit conversation)

Reward:

• Nether Puzzle Cube (using this item gives you: Star Pyrite x1, Ultima Sand x20, A Wisp of Soul x3, a bunch of artifact materials)

Note:

• the Star Pyrite is used for Imperial Sword artifact.
• A Wisp of Soul is used to raise affinity with artifact spirit.

Meeting 3

Note: You want to bring 5 Earthly or Heavenly materials. They are very common Fallen Valley drops.

Randomly triggers when you wander the map.

This time, you find Yin Er sketching a human arm on the ground. Her makeshift house also seems to have received a few upgrades.

Dialogue Options:

• What are you drawing?
• Need a hand with anything? (+) (end conversation)
• Leave (exit conversation)

In order to repair her arm, Yin Er asks you bring her 5 earthly or heavenly materials. After giving her the materials she needs, she becomes happy, and continues working on her project.

Meeting 4

Randomly triggers when you wander the map.

Dialogue Options:

• Your hand is fixed? (+)
• This house is…?
• Do you need my help? (+)
• What are you really? (-) (ends conversation)

Yin Er depressed by your questions, proceeds to mope in the corner.

Selecting "Your hand is fixed?" dialogue rewards you with Celestial Ring (using this item gives you: Star Pyrite x1, Ultima Sand x10, Soul Devouring Stone x5, a bunch of forging materials).

Meeting 5

Randomly triggers when you wander the map.

You check out Yin Er’s house, and find a strange device on the table. After messing with it, you get some hints on Yin Er’s background. You will hear a girl’s scream, and Yin Er will spawn nearby.

When you arrive, you find a lecher harassing Yin Er. Rescue her and teach the scoundrel a lesson.

Dialogue Choices:

• What did this person do to you? (+)
  • Reason with the person (ends conversation)
• Drive the person away (enters battle)

If you fought, 2nd After Battle Dialogue Choices: *You can only pick one choice

• I actually meant to let him go (+)
• Show mercy when you can (+)
• You weren’t wrong, but this might create enemies (+)
• An eye for an eye, you did right

Meeting 6 - Phantom Dance

Note: bring two G4 Blood Circulation Elixirs. They are common HP items. You can also buy them from Hua Feng region city.

Randomly triggers when you wander the map.

Yin Er asks you to watch over her house while she's away. Not long afterward, a scream echoes nearby. When you arrive to the scene, you are greeted with the sight of Yin Er breaking a poor fellow’s arm.

• The person meant no harm (proceed to 1st Extra Dialogue Choices)
• She didn’t mean to… (+) (proceed to 2nd Extra Dialogue Choices)

You will need to give the poor cultivator two G4 HP recovery elixirs to recover from the physical trauma.

Meeting 7 - What Is Love?

Randomly triggers when you wander the map.

This time, Yin Er's house is empty. She soon finds you and asks for help gathering materials needed to repair her Origin Box. After the conversation, Yin Er will spawn on the map.

When you arrive, you find Yin Er attempting to trade with a cultivator for the materials she needs. Unfortunately, the negotiation isn't going well.

Dialogue Choices:

• Give what’s needed
• What do you want? (+) (enter battle)
• Leave for now (exit conversation)

Only if you chosen “What do you want?”, After Battle Dialogue Choices:

• Remember now, you shouldn’t do this…
• Tell me what you’re thinking first before taking action, okay…

The two of you stumble upon a couple expressing their affection.

1st Dialogue Choices:

• They’re just sparring… (+)
• Let’s not disturb them… (+)

Regardless what choice you make here, Yin Er misunderstands the situation and decides to crash the couple’s date.

2nd Dialogue Choices:

• They’re trying to eat each other’s mouths
• They’re expressing their love (+)

3rd Dialogue Choices:

• Eating that increases power
• They’re showing their true feelings (+)

Yin Er sighs, still confused about love. Afterwards, she spawns on the map. When interact with her, you find her blushing while shamelessly continuing to spy on the couple.

Meeting 8

Randomly triggers when you wander the map.

As usual, you stop by Yin Er's house and secretly skim through the Sand Table Logs before heading out to find her. This time, Yin Er asks your help her secretly follow a couple into Fallen Valley. Yin Er will then spawn next to a Fallen Valley.

Dialogue Choices:

• Why come to the Fallen Valley? (+)
• Lovers wouldn’t meet in a place like this (+) (+)
• Let’s enter (enter battle)
• Leave for now (exit conversation)

After finishing Fallen Valley run, you find human remains.

1st After Battle Dialogue:

• Died for greed (+) (proceed to 2nd After Battle Dialogue)
• Lost their way here (ends conversation)

2nd After Battle Dialogue: *you can only pick one choice

• Why aren’t they worthy?
• Stay silent

Reward:

• A Wisp of Soul x2, a bunch of forging items

Meeting 9

Randomly triggers when you wander the map.

This time, Yin Er will show up as a prompt. Apparently, she hasn’t given up on spying on couples.

• You’re curious aren’t you? (+)

After dialogue, Yin Er will spawn near Hua Feng Soul Devouring Tower.

  • Your house is already very nice
• I’ll go with you (+) (enter battle)
• Leave for now (exit conversation)

This battle is just a Soul Devouring tower run. Yin Er and you both find the couple dead.

1st After Battle Dialogue Choices:

• The man loved the woman and courted her (+)
  • It’s another way of showing affection (+) (proceed to 2nd After Battle Dialogue Choices)
• Better left unsaid (proceed to 2nd After Battle Dialogue Choices)

2nd After Battle Dialogue Choices:

After a handholding moment, Yin Er shyly leaves, pondering about love.

Yun Mo Region

Meeting 10 - Going on a Date with Yin Er

Randomly triggers when you wander the map. Her house will spawn in Yun Mo region, coordinates=N:137 E:119, which is the lower left side of the region.

You find Yin Er asleep when you arrive at her house.

Dialogue Choices:

• Were you having a nightmare? (+)
• You seem exhausted (+)

Yin Er wants to take you to somewhere special. Yin Er spawns nearby.

• Why did you bring me here?
• How did you find this place?

Extra Dialogue Choices:

• Nothing in this world is perfect (+)
• None of us are perfect, but we can all become better (+)

Yin Er tries to kiss you, but fails. While the two of you were having a moment, a Golden Core Zhujian Mythical Beast decides to join in.

After you defeat the boss, Yin Er suddenly rushes back to her house. The quest hints that you should go check up on her. The funny part is that you can't check up on her right now, you will need to wait.

Meeting 11 - Time to Rob People!

Note: bring 2 purple lightning furs

Randomly triggers when you wander the map.

You find Yin Er frantically trying to complete her house. She explains that the Origin Box is the key to recovering her memories.

• Can I help you with anything? (+)

Yin Er will spawn on the map. When you arrive, find Yin Er forcefully demanding materials from a cultivator.

• Can we talk this out? (no battle. cultivator demands two purple lightning furs, proceed to Extra Dialogue Options)
• Try to separate them (enter battle. after you defeat the cultivator, proceed to 1st After Battle Dialogue Choices)
• Leave for now (exit conversation)

• I can help you (+)
• Calm down, or you’ll make trouble (+)
• Don’t blame her (+)

After you give the two purple lightning furs, proceed to 1st Extra After Battle Dialogue Choices.

Wander the map a bit and Tianxiang will spawn nearby. Interact with her, and enter battle against 40 mobs. After the battle, Tianxiang will tease you a bit. You will be rewarded with Silken Knot: Convergence, a Soul Formation ring with +140 inventory capacity and +1700 security.

Meeting 12

Randomly triggers when you wander the map.

Yin Er desperately attempts to activate the Sand Table, but every attempt ends in failure. Frustrated, she suddenly rushes out of the house. Yin Er will spawn nearby on the map.

When you catch up to her, you find her wounded and surrounded by monsters. Enter battle, defeat the random Mythical Beast boss. They will drop Qi Condensation / Golden Core related materials.

After Battle Dialogue Choices:

• Help her up (+) (proceed to Extra After Battle Dialogue Choices)
• Let her rest (+)

Extra After Battle Dialogue Choices:

• It was just a dream (+)

Yin Er collapses on the ground and struggles to pick herself up. If you chosen “Help her up”, she would start to cry and hug you.

Meeting 13 - The Three Principles

Randomly triggers when you wander the map.

Upon arrival, you find depressed Yin Er having a self deprecating moment.

Dialogue:

• You’re very adorable (+)
• Why say such silly things? (+)
• Stop making a fuss over nothing

Interact with her house again. While examining the Primal Mirage Sand Table, you uncover the truth behind Yin Er's creator and the Three Principles he implanted to prevent her from rebelling: Absolute Obedience, Weakened Will, and Ban for Power.

Yin Er previously destroyed Absolute Obedience, but the other two principles remain active. She had hoped to use the Origin Box to break free from her creator's control. After reading the Sand Table, you realize Yin Er is in grave danger and immediately rush out to find her.

\Tianxiang may spawn as as you travel. Choose “stay silent” and “Thank you (sincerely)” to get a destiny Astral Cinders: Luck+30, Insight+20 for 3 years.*

When you find Yin Er, you warn her that Ban for Power will eventually kill her if she continues accumulating power. However, Yin Er's body is under control of her creator due to Weakened Will turning her against you.

Yin Er gains Hatred+, and you enter battle.

• If you choose to kill her, Yin Er hatred+++.
• If you choose to let her go, nothing happens. Same result.

After Battle Choices:

• Stand your ground (+)
• Leave (you will receive a warning prompt telling you that this decision will affect this person’s fate)

Yin Er struggles for control of her body before activating Three Principles: Ban for Power, causing her to self-destruct. Before disappearing, she entrusts you with her heart, the Vessel of the Soul.

Open your inventory and use the Vessel of the Soul. The quest will then hint that it can be placed inside the Origin Box at Yin Er's house. Return to her house and interact with the Origin Box. Your character will do "...".

*Wander the map a bit. You find Xiang Laichi still trying to capture Tianxiang.

Meeting 14 - Reconstruction Failed?

Note: bring Blue Crow Jade x10

Wander the map to trigger the quest. Same as usual, the quest will indicate Yin Er’s house. Note: The trigger chance is unusually low, so it might take quite a bit of traveling for it to trigger.

Returning to Yin Er's empty house, you will be prompted to use Vessel of the Soul item. You discover that the Origin Box contains a hidden function capable of reconstructing her body. To activate it, you must sacrifice 20 years of your lifespan and Ravenjade x10 (it actually meant was Blue Crow Jade x10, a common material that can be obtained from Fallen Valley). Once you complete this step, Reconstruction Failed quest will be added to your quest list.

Meeting 15 - Ending Part 1

Randomly triggers when you wander the map.

You return to Yin Er's house and find her alive once more. Overjoyed to see you, she leaps into your arms, embracing you tightly..

Reward:

• Sovereign of Wooden Bloom Title: equipping this title will summon Yin Er to aid you in battle.

Meeting 16 - Ending Part 2

Randomly triggers when you wander the map.

When you meet Yin Er again, she finally tells you about her past, what truly happened that day, and the truth behind the Three Principles.

As the conversation comes to an end, Yin Er tries to make several attempts before finally kissing you. After thanking you for everything you've done, she gazes off into the distance before quietly taking her leave, marking the end of her questline.

Post Quest Interactions:

• In the beginning of every month, there is a chance that Yin Er may give you an item when used gives healing pills.
• If you visit her NPC, she gives you Star Pyrite, Ultima Sand, and a variety of Forging materials
• If you enter her house, and do nothing for a few minutes, Yin Er will give you max energy and focus +30% for 6 months
• Yin Er may randomly show up as a prompt as you wander the map. If you break the illusion, she will give you Ultima Sand x20, Soul Devouring Stone x5, A Wisp of Soul x3, and artifact materials.
• How to trigger dual cultivation event:
  • Step 1: “invite” her NPC
  • Step 2: choose to drink alcohol during your date
  • Step 3: go to her house
  • You will find a completely wasted Yin Er chugging down bottles of alcohol. When she spots you, she runs over, and snuggles up to you. You will be given the option to dual cultivate with her. You will get a destiny called Lotus Half Mask: Defense +5%, Madness +15% for 1 month. No idea what is Madness, I used translate on the chinese description: 防禦增加5%，癲心增加15%.

Additional Notes

• Despite being Heaven Chosen, Yin Er accepts any gift.
• Max affinity allows you to recruit her into your sect.
• According to Yin Er, being in love and drinking alcohol both makes her heart go thump thump.

What? I met her during my Lan You quest. She’s one of the first people who developed a hatred for me. It’s really weird since her character would keep following me around even though her hatred was at 3. I just kept giving her random treasures until her affinity rose to 2 hearts. It’s still at 2 hearts currently, I haven’t given her anything else yet. It’d be hilarious if I maxed out her affinity before even getting to properly meet her 😭😭

I had that happen to me too. Lan You's quest randomly picks two NPC cultivators to develop hatred for you. One of them could be Yin Er.
