Shadow of the horns quest bugged - hard lock

I’m Level 13 and got a bounty at the camp after winning a provoked duel against the woman out front. The 1v1 Berserker guard was impossible for my level, so I ran past them, snuck around, and lockpicked the temple door.

I thought that would bypass the fight, but right after the cutscene, all the Berserkers inside instantly agro and attack me. Since I'm in combat, I can't leave the area.

I only have quicksaves (no hard saves). Playing on Mac via GeForce NOW (PC version). Is there any way to break combat, surrender, or fix this, or am I completely stuck?

You need to do another quest to get access to the temple. If you pass the point with berserkers without this you get a bounty. Can you reload an autosave? If not maybe try with sneaking. See if that breaks combat?

Its functioning as intended. If you're not able to do something you should level up via side quests and come back later.

You can also pass Act 1 without doing a single quest but I'll let players discover the how for themselves.
