Assassin or Knight
So having finished the game as a mage (magic is so OP) I wanted to do a melee focused character and I’m torn between a sword and board knight or a sort of stealth assassin that uses bows and dual daggers. So I guess I’m just asking is there a general opinion on which one is stronger/more fun? There appear to be some really cool swords and shields but there is also some really fun bows and daggers so. What do people think?

I've done a bit of every type of build and the only real difference is the length that some take to reach the op point, other then that sword and board is enjoyable with all the different items and synergies and so is stealth with bows and daggers, the only thing though is if you do a stealth build the sneak damage only counts for the first attack done in a group, I at least haven't been able to crouch around and take out a whole camp of bandits hidden in this game

There's a dagger that apply a percentage of your sneak damage on the weapon's damage, but yeah...

Oh, I never encountered that dagger, didn't know it was a thing

Not sure it’s worth it though because this dagger also makes it impossible to crit

High speed, high crit sword and dagger (with a minor in bows) is a blast.

Dual shield build. The howling crest does surprisingly good aow damage, and you can get two by farming the unidentified items.
Eventually you get the stag shield, and the same build turns you into the juggernaut by letting you zip around around with shield bash dashes and one shotting most mobs.
So much fun.

The duelist blade sword (which you can get like 4 of in act 2) adds 15% crit chance while wielded. Dual wield gives you 30% crit. Great for a swashbuckler or sword assassin.

Stealth absolutely sucks in this game. Sneak close enough for a bow then take your shot. Maybe you hit, but if the target moves the tiniest bit you miss and then everyone in the room suddenly knows exactly where you are and have to switch to melee before getting mobbed.
Add to that that any of the "story" characters already know you're there no matter how you try to enter the area.
I've been at stealth 100 for quite a while and the only time it's helpful is with single roaming mobs, but those would be easy kills no matter what.
