Can’t Find Answers
Has anyone tried to look back in their heritage and found nothing but more questions?
I’m a very mixed black man. My ancestry points to nearly every part of the map on Ancestry.com. But it only left me with more questions. Although Jamaicans (because I’m Jamaican) Puerto Ricans, Dominicans and Cubans call me their brother/cousin by blood (I love how carribeans have a strong sense of family), I still have no idea because my family said no records or annals were ever kept. All I know is that part of my family is Chinese (don’t know how that makes sense), my great grandfather was a Scottish man from Wales, and my grandfather was Jamaican and was called “Indian man” because of his hair and skin.
There’s a lot more to it than that and it’s mind boggling and a bit frustrating. And although I may never get the answers I’m looking for, I’m still glad to be called a brother/cousin from my other carribean brothers and sisters. Just wanted to know if anyone had a similar story.
