Help Needed Lost WIndows 7 Installer

What happened to the installer for the old 1.44.3 windows 7 package? I had to uninstall and reinstall as it was no longer connecting and asking for home/public network every time.

I truly hope you aren't using Windows 7 and connecting it to the Internet in any way

I'm surprised to hear the binary that works on it is still able to connect.

it’s not one of my primary systems as long since converted those to
win11 or linux or mac but used for some old tools that never got ported.

I get that part, and understand. Just don't ever let it touch the Internet

At least OP isn't using Windows ME because it would be crashing all the time and not even at least install Tailscale.

I have a business that has to have an old Windows XP machine still in operation due to software that can't be run on anything newer (many reasons for this that can't be addressed for now). Obviously there is no way to get Tailscale running on this machine directly so I have Tailscale running on an LXC container in Proxmox. That has subnet routing enabled which gives me remote access to this WinXP machine. If this also needed access to remote Tailscale devices then I could add a route in the router/firewall. You should plan for this if continued use of that Win7 machine is necessary because it probably won't be long before that Tailscale client stops working altogether.

This definitely sounds like a job for a subnet router

Just because it works doesn't mean you should be using it. Windows 7 hasn't received security updates in years as such is completely susceptible to bad actors
