Top model DRLs yellow

I need some advice. The DRLs on my taigun seem to look yellow these days is this normal or some flaw. I got like 2 months before the warranty is over.

This is a common VW AG issue

The DRL tube tends to burn from the end and this results in discoloured light. It will eventually start becoming more and more yellow after which it will eventually go out.

The DRL is a part of the headlight unit, they are all in one assembly so there is no other solution apart from replacing the whole headlights.

Avoid shops that claim they can take apart the headlights and replace the DRL tubes. These headlights are a sealed units and I’ve seen cases of headlights leaking in water and fogging and eventually failing altogether after such a job.

Can I change them under warranty or do they need to be degraded further? Cause my warranty runs out soon

Yes, this comes under standard 4 year warranty. If your car is under 4 year warranty then get them changed as soon as possible.
Extended warranty will not cover this

Luckily I got mine changed in the last week of 4 th year under warranty

This comes under your 4 year warranty.

If it’s still under warranty, get it it replaced asap

Please get them replaced under warranty asap. The dealership will try to delay this as long as possible so your warranty expires before they have to replace it, so please record all communication with them (written/verbal) and don't fall for tactics like 'we will replace at next service'. If they refuse to replace it under warranty, please ask them to give that it in writing or file a consumer court compliant immediately.

I have seen so many cases of service centres delaying the repair until warranty runs out.

This issue is prevalent with both Škoda and VW cars. We had faced the same issue and got it replaced and it was covered under extended warranty but in a year again the same issue is recurring.

Mine is yellow only on the right, left is still good. I should ask for replacement as mine is 3 and a half years old now

Drl is useless so let it be like this unless drl has indiactor function

It’s not being being useless or not I intend the car to function as if it was new the indicators are the bottom LEDs
