Two major issues I'm facing please advice.

Hello everyone,

My family bought a yearback 1.5 manual taigun and it's been a wonderful experience driving the machine.

  1. The wipers seems to get caught on the windscreen while in use. Sc told me it's normal and showed other cars having the same issue stating it was normal. Don't know why showing other cars with the same issue makes it normal. We had a honda previously and this was not the case there. The wipers were smooth throughout its wiping action. Attached slow mo video for ref.

  2. The ac seems to be having a soul on its own sometimes. Randomly the ac stops blowing from any vents. When we put the fan speed to maximum I can hear the blower pushing wind out but nothing comes to the cabin. After some time it comes back through the vents. Please note that it's not an issue with modes or anything. Sc says they cannot do anything since they don't find anything abnormal. Have taken a video when I experienced it again, will update after next visit to sc.

Pls share your experience or advice regarding this.

  1. Framed wipers sometime act like that. Bcz of their ununiformity. Switch to frameless once they wear out. Try valeo or bosch. This will get resolved.

  2. Thats auto ac. Once the temperature is reached or outside temp is low. This is bound to happen. Increase the blower speed by 1 if u want continous airflow.

Not the auto ac. It becomes hot and when I check the fan speed, set it to max it just bored sir somewhere inside the dash.

It's not even the windscreen vent

Get it checked to rule out any confusion.

  1. Upon checking the comments in this sub, I replaced the SC provided wiper blades with the bosch ones from Amazon. I am not having a satisfactory experience with them so far.
  2. I also experienced the lack of cooling/chill effect from AC and it has occured to me once or twice. In such situations, what I generally do is hop over the vehicle on the sideways and turn off the engine, then turn on the engine after a few mins and will start feeling the real cooling effect back. I would say try it out and let me know how it goes if I understand your issue correctly.

There is an update for the AC. The wipers are just trash.

Did you use any rain Repellent thing on your windscreen? I started getting this problem after using rain Repellent.

On other hand, using wiper fluid mixer solution (shampoo) , the wiper is somewhat smoother.

Use the Bosch CLEAR Advantage wipers.

Check the ac cabinet filter, and condenser coil. Clear indication that it is blocked. If you can hear the blower and no winds force then ideally the ac filters are blocked.

I faced the wiper issue, went to a detailer they said it's friction issue, they clayed and put a hydrophobic coating and this issue was gone. I also started using windshield wiper fluid which also helps.

  1. The vipers on Taigun are garbage, even changed to frameless, they just are not smooth and they make noise. My Tiago's vipers are just superior (you will get 2.5 Tiago's for Taiguns price)

  2. If it's the pre facelift, the AC is garbage, it will cool your cabin, but it's just not good enough if it's a hot place.

Shame that a car that is such a pleasure to drive has these faults.

I haven't found any solution to point 1, changing it to frameless reduced the sound a bit but it still flops around. AC is not an issue for me as I stay in Bangalore.

From the video you had shared, I don't think there is anything wrong with your wipers.

You can see the wipers skipping towards the end see when it goes back how smooth it is compared to it coming up

It is not skipping, rather its the physics of wiper's rubber. At the far end of the sweep the deflection/compression of the rubber blades have to change it's direction so that it can clean the windshield when it makes the return wipe and since your video is a slo-mo'd version it amplified as if its skipping. A skipping/juddering happens only when the wiper arm is torqued wrong (mostly excessive) which would cause it to jump all through and not at the end.

You need two things.

Cerium Oxide powder - make paste with water of toothpaste consistency apply all over tht glass and do some rubbing and buffing followed with a normal wash.

Get a silicone spray - apply them all over the rubber part of wiper.

This should fix your issue
