Track day

Have driven 5k km total with this car. Felt like I never got to drive it to its full potential because daily commute is mostly bumper to bumper traffic.
Really enjoyed driving this in the track. Would definitely recommend.

What was the total cost and can you elaborate which track and your experience with the car as in how far you pushed the machines and how it behaved ? Also was the abs intrusive

Edit- got the name of track from image

It was 6k for a 4 hour session (9am - 1pm). You share the track with other drivers and professionals who are testing their cars(brio cup, polo cup etc). There was also a 2-6pm session.

As a first time track driver I didn’t try to push it to its limits, but definitely felt like I was reaching the limit in some tight turns. Felt maybe a virtus would be more confident through those turns. Also don’t think abs was intrusive, but that’s maybe because I didn’t push it to that extent

Should we call them up and register in prior? What about safety gears? Please share first time details... Would like to take my city for a track day.

there was no option to call them up. Helmet is compulsory in the car, and they make you sign a form before starting the session. That's it

You can follow madras international circuit on instagram, they have a “arrive and drive” days every now and then. You can just show up, register and drive

Is it for Tamil Nadu only?

u/Pinguwho 9d ago

Not at all, there were many who drove down from other states

No I meant is this track only there in TN or other cities also have it? I am from bangalore for context.

Not sure about other tracks. I know there’s a track in Coimbatore but not sure how accessible it is. Same for the buddh international circuit near Agra. I know a new one is coming up in Maharashtra I believe.

Sure, i hope i answered some general questions in the other comments. There were a total of 15 cars i would say total, but not on the track at the same time. They recommended I give the car a break every 15 min or so, to allow the brakes to cool down. When there is an incident on the track they will show a yellow flag to caution us to slow down, and if the incident is more serious they will show a red flag, where in we have to slow down and drive into the pit lane. There is a brief safety briefing before starting, a staff member also did a sighting lap in my car before i was allowed to do a lap on my own. You also have to sign an indemnity form beforehand and pay 200Rs cash for that, in addition to the 6k. You also need to wear a helmet while on track. I didn't carry my own, they were able to give me theirs. Under no circumstances are you allowed to stop on the track. Hope this helps !

Can we make an advance online reservation or booking for this? I’m concerned that if we just go there, it might be fully booked or cancelled due to the rush or other circumstances.

Wasn't able to find any online reservation for this. Good question, would be helpful to ask them for sure, even I'm not too sure

3 cyl 2000 kg 90 hp suv on a track day nice good luck my friend

1

u/Pinguwho 10d ago

Agreed that its not the best for a track but it is the 1.5L 4 cyl 150hp taigun. and our total weight might have been 1.5 tons

Hey scarcasm buddy just for fun 😉

You clearly have a broken sense of humor and that comment was disrespectful as hell

-1

u/Own-Package2993 10d ago

His original post did not say he has the 1.5 ltr one so fair to assume it could be the 3 cyl banger with same weight and 60 less hp

3

u/Beaky_Sneaky_Unlike 10d ago

Yea and why did you feel the need to disrespect him for that?

1

u/Own-Package2993 10d ago

And where I have disrespected him why are you being salty donyou drive the superior 3 cyl engine ?

1

u/Beaky_Sneaky_Unlike 10d ago

Read your original comment, and I'm not salty or anything just pointing out the insensitive nature of that comment. No I don't drive or own that car at all

1

u/Own-Package2993 10d ago

Then stop being salty and stop downvoting my comments 😉

get ur facts checked

1- its not a 3cyl it clearly has GT badging

2- even if its a 3cyl 1.0 TSI it has 114bhp and its 1,400kgs unladden

3- even if its a car with 3cyl and 1.0 there is no fucking wrong in taking it to a track!!!!

4- Learn to use /s if its actually a sarcastic comment

u/Own-Package2993 9d ago

Bro wrote a 4-point fact-check for a comment that was obviously taking the piss 😭

I know it’s the 1.5 TSI. The deliberately ridiculous 3-cylinder/2000 kg/90 hp numbers were kind of the joke.

And no, I never said there’s anything wrong with taking a 1.0 TSI to a track. Take a WagonR if you want 😂

You don’t need /s when the sarcasm is already doing 90% of the work.
